Description: Family-owned and operated for over 111 years, Columbia has earned acclaim for its old-world charm and award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine and wine list. Join us for century-old family recipes like Paella "a la Valenciana," Filet Mignon and fresh seafood specialties. Don't miss Columbia's Original "1905" Salad(R), prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a 110-year-old family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil. Be sure to sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo. Relax in our courtyard or Mediterranean-style dining rooms, filled with hundreds of hand-painted tiles and Spanish-style fountains. We are a sister to the Columbia in Tampa's Ybor City, founded in 1905. Children's menu available. Casual attire is fine, but we don't allow sleeveless shirts on men. Beautiful atmosphere and helpful staff. Staff very eager to make recommendation and make food to your liking. Food was very good. Everyone raved about the salad, it was ok, but after a minute or so, the dressing makes the lettuce limp and soggy. Will be going back to try new things!

This is a branch of a classic Cuban restaurant that opened in Ybor City in 1905, and although it has only been here since 1983 it feels much older. The menu and the decor are apparently much the same as in the parent restaurant. Frankly, I've had better Cuban sandwiches, but theirs purports to be the original recipe. Other dishes date back decades, too, and it is fun to explore the Cuban-American equivalent of Tex-Mex. If you just want a meal and not an exercise in culinary archeology, some of the tapas dishes are excellent, as is the fresh seafood. Our waitress was great, offering us some very good advice and being attentive without hovering. I like restaurants with a story and a past, and this is certainly one.

We were very pleased! My wife and I ate at the Columbia for my birthday, and were very impressed, not only is the food incredible, and authentic, the service was incredible as well. We always hesitate to go into busy restaurants, because we have bad experience with servers not giving us quality attention. We had Russell as our server, and he was very attentive. It took a while for my wife and I to decide what we were having, with the menu being so extensive, but Russell was very patient, and we appreciated not only the quality of the food, but also the quality of the service. My wife loves that they make the sangria/salads in front of you. This was a wonderful experience, and my wife and I will return.

Whoa! Stop! This is it! So you are in the tourist district, it's insane hot and humid, you are starving and just want to sit down away from the crowd. The Columbia will be the best delight of your trip, it;s very cool inside, the atmosphere in the main dining room (ask for it) is delightfully old Spain (or Cuba) including a fountain and beautiful tile work with nice skylight. Service is very good, food superb. Naturally Hispanic dishes (family recipes) and oh so good! If you like Sangria, get the pitcher of the house Sangria. You will not be disappointed and it will chill your day nicely. The "1905 Salad" is famous and a huge portion (split it). The menu is great fun. You will be stuffed when you leave. You can go lite for lunch (I recommend the Cuban sandwich or half and half). If you are there in the evening, and you enjoy good seafood, try the Pompano. It is baked in a parchment bag and it is sumptuous. Enjoy!!!
