We went here with a crowd and they combined a booth and a table so we could all eat together. Our waiter was awesome, took everyone's order and remembered it! The bread they bring complimentary is absolutely wonderful! Don't try to count calories though! I ordered the combination platter and it was all good. Portions were big and I couldn't finish it all. The gater tail was breaded with a cornmeal batter though, so know that if you order it. We were not to impressed with that, but everything else was great!

I had the 12 oz blackend NY strip steak, a house salad, and cauliflower casserole. All meals come with cheesy garlic bread. The cheesy garlic bread and house salad were excellent. The house salad has apples, walnuts, and other interesting things in it to go along with the tangy white dressing. The steak was cooked as ordered and was tender and flavorful. We had at least 15 people at our table (all ordering on many different checks and requesting many different items including substitutions and changes). Our waiter was obviously experienced and professional handling every request and task with ease, poise, and good humor. He even took a picture of all of us at the table. The setting is in a secluded area overlooking a marsh with a beautiful view and peaceful decor. This is a good place to go with family or friends. We had a small child (age 5) as well as an infant (2 months) in our group and they fit right in with everyone else. I do recommend this place.

Charming decor, great view of the water, service was friendly and prompt and the shrimp was delicious. They even had hushpuppies, which we love. Highly recommended!

Living only walking distance to the SC makes this a frequent favorite. The atmosphere is nostalgic of the old Florida fish camps and the fried chicken and shrimp are fabulous. Only recently did we have poor service which we expect time to time but this reflected on an inadequate meal. When one of our orders for the fried chicken came with only two very small thighs and two tiny wings the server promised to return with the missing parts. But Ryan was a bit forgetful and the missing breast never appeared. There were no apologies or explanation only a check presentation. When questioned he went to the kitchen and was told the order was incomplete because they ran out of chicken. Again no apologies only a glaze of a lost stare.
Now don't take this as our last visit to SC. But beware of the server and also know that the sister restaurant is Creekside with nicer atmosphere and the same fried chicken.

A neat looking, very casual place but it can get crowded with long waits, especially on weekends. Food is slightly above average but not 4-star. Prices are reasonable. Kid friendly so it can get a bit noisy; definitely not for a romantic evening!
