The sand around the pier is of the coquina kind, so not the softest, but indicative of the area. We walked around a little, and saw a few people sunbathing. I think the pier itself charges to go out on it, but we didn't attempt it this year (although we'd been out on the pier many years ago). Many like to fish off the pier, so its a popular place. The Wednesday market is a mix of arts and crafts and local farmer or other hand-crafted materials, with some bargains to be found and a fair variety to choose from. Fun for gift shopping.

Love sitting out here watching the ocean :-) especially at sunrise, almost hesitated this time bc it said you had to purchase a pass but it's only a dollar (they should have that posted), def worth $1 when you are not fishing

Every year we vacation here, we make several trips to the pier. This year we were on the pier Sept 7th. It only costs $1 to sightsee on the pier. It's very relaxing to just sit, listen to the waves, feel the breeze, and watch the surfers. That is probably the most entertaining, watching the surfers and trying to figure out why they let "that one" get away.

Took the kids here today fishing on the pier. They had the equipment available to rent ($5 for a pole for two hours) and bait available to purchase. They only take cash in the bait shop. Went out on the pier for a fantastic view of the ocean and of the beach. Had a great morning fishing on the pier and caught several fish. My daughter caught a small shark and my son caught several good size fish (not sure what kind they were), one of which was a catfish. I thought the views were great and the kids enjoyed fishing here. There were so many fish jumping out of the water I'm just not sure how much I would want to swim nearby (especially since people were catching lots of small sharks). Overall had a great time!

It was nice to be there as the sun sets, even though there isnt a pretty view. The end of the pier was taken over by fisherpeople and it was hard to get down further than where they stop. We did have to pay $1 to walk the pier but something to do late at night. They had beach volleyball tournaments going on and something for everyone!
