Went by to order one beef and one chicken Aussie pie to try for the first time. I ordered them to go and the very nice employee even gave me instructions how to warm them up in our toaster oven when we got home. They are already pre-cooked so super easy meal or snack and for under $5 a piece. Very good tasting too.

The only thing I had was the hot chocolate but it was amazing! It is made to order and it isn't too sweet, but it isn't bitter like the hot chocolate at Starbucks can be.

Popped in for a coffee and a snack after cycling to St. Augustine lighthouse. We had a veggie pie and a chicken pie. Seating is limited, but we managed to get the best two at the top of the stairs. I had the flat white coffee. It was made to perfection. Well recommended. The staff/owner were both very friendly. Worth visiting.

Had a chicken meat pie and "regular" coffee. The coffee was just okay. The meat pie had nice flavor, and the pastry part was just right - not tough, not too crispy.

Kind of odd - we couldn't find a price for the meat pies posted in the case nor on the menu board. Maybe it was posted somewhere and we just couldn't find it. For a medium coffee, bottle of water, and one meat pie, the total was $9.

Even though the food and coffee weren't stellar, I give it four stars because the guy working there was very, very nice. He gave us a freebie cup of coffee while we were waiting for the coffee we'd actually ordered. Awesome of him. He asked if we wanted the meat pie warmed up, and he chatted with us a little as we ate (but he wasn't overbearing). Service like that goes a long way in the overall experience.

Would probably eat here again for a light snack, but would try a different coffee.

FYI, there is very little seating. Just something to know, for planning purposes.

Hi mlasp!

Thank you for visiting The Kookaburra, and for taking the time to review us! We truly appreciate both your patronage and feedback.

One thing I must not have mentioned with your coffee service is our approach with our drip coffee. Since all of our coffee is Bold Bean organic fair trade, roasted fresh for us each week, we will typically select one bean or blend to feature on a particular day. This provides a nice variance for our local customers, who enjoying trying new beans.

On your next visit, we'll be more than happy to serve you a nice espresso beverage or a different variety of drip coffee that may be more to your liking. Again, we appreciate the excellent feedback and look forward to you stopping by the next time you are visiting St. Augustine!

Regards,

Spencer
