We debated on spending 160 on a room, and now we are so glad we did it!! The room was located over a courtyard with views of a private garden. Convenient to shopping and historical sites, we did not have to move our car all weekend. The owners greeted us at the door, carried our bags to our room, gave us great suggestions on tours, restaurants etc...provided a continental breakfast and then watched our bags after we checked out, so we did not have to move our car. After doing the math, our weekend was easier because we did not have to drive in St. Augustine traffic, we heeded the food suggestions and used the suggested tour guide and not the big train/trolley cars.

Our first stay was in Apr 2010 for a wedding in St Augustine. This inn was the bride & groom's fav, so we stayed in Nina room. We were pleasantly surprised how large the room is & the location perfect. We went back after a cruise & took our brother & sister-in-law, stayed in Pinta rooms. They enjoyed it as much as we did & want to go back. We wanted to shop & eat lunch after checking out, so the innkeepers kept our luggage in the office till we were ready to load & go. I love being right in the heart of St George street & convenience the inn provides. This is one of my new favorite places to go & stay!

Firstly, employees are some of the nicest anywhere. Location...southern end of st George. Good locale for families ( near fort, grassy areas, old schoolhouse, trolley tours, can walk to Ripleys). But, if u like the more upscale feel of the finer art galleries and nicer dine-in restaurants and architecture, then u will be walking about 15 minutes or more to reach them on north end of st George street. Rooms are ok...I suppose location dictates the high price for a tiny room with dirty floor and lukewarm water. Balconies very narrow and shared with neighbors. "therapeutic bath" as described on their website is just an old standard sized tiled tub, and I paid $40 more per night for that?! Shops galor all around, but again, more the touristy stuff. Parking is a 5 minute walk away, loading/unloading at ur room is permitted. Don't miss... Ripleys ghost tour via trolley at 8pm. It stops at the fort and the moonlight views are lovely, a fun little tour and not scary, but something different. I don't have kids and still enjoyed this. Also, I loved fireflies boutique on st George street and Jean Claude Roy's art abounds on the north end. Do an elegant lunch at Lightner Museum's Al Casar cafe. And get the hummus salad! A visit to Lady de Le Leche church, cemetery, shrine, etc ended my visit and was inspiring and beyond beautiful. Rich in history and natural beauty.

This was a great place to stay in St. Augustine. It was a very easy check in. We just pulled to the front and we were met and our bags taken inside for us. Our room was upstairs and overlooked the old schoolhouse. We enjoyed sitting out on tHe deck. The room was EXTREMLY clean and comforting. After we returned home we realized we had left an item we had purchased for our home. We called and they had the item and graciously mailed it to us. We will stay again soon.

We loved the location of the Inn, just across the street from the fort and within easy walking distance of the waterfront and historic district. The staff is very friendly and quick to help us with our requests. The rooms are large and the balconies are a bonus. However, there are a few things they could do to improve the experience. Our room was a bit musty, and it hits you every time you enter the room. You get used to it after a few minutes, but they should try to fix this. The mattress on the king bed was soft and seemed to be covered in plastic. The pillows were lumpy. The shower ran out of hot water after a few minutes. Parking is in a garage two blocks away. Even with these disappointments, we still liked the Inn, but will likely try another one for comparison should we return.

Room Tip: The rooms are scattered in several buildings around a courtyard. If you need an elevator, you need a room above the reception area. The rooms in our building only had stair access, and you could be on the third floor.
