I could not believe my eyes when I arrived to see flooded streets surrounded by poorly maintained roads, streets and foliage. Due to the rains and poor drainage the town smelled bad. These conditions took away from the awesome old homes and attractions. It is a good place if you are taking older children because it is mostly touring and shopping and little ones would be bored. We took my 16 year old granddaughter and 2 of her friends and they enjoyed the hearse tour and all the other attractions. They are into vintage items so they were in their glory with the many shops and the selections.
I have been to many historic places where the owners took pride in owning old homes. They kept them well maintained so they could be fully enjoyed. I guess this town is making a bundle anyway so investing to them is a waste. This was a one time visit for me.More
