We ordered a half ceasar salad $4, half fish and chips$7(HH price) and one deep fried banger $2 HH price. And it took half an hour. The salad was pathetic served on a sandwich plate and they used the core of the romaine and only the white part of the leaves. There were small slivers of Parmesan and very light vinegrate dressing. One piece of cod and dry over cooked fries/chips. The deep fried banger was the best. Over priced Irish food on the reg menu. Don't bother. The severs totally don't care, rather embarrassing for them if it's the kitchens fault for being pathetic.

Kelchick, we apologize if your experience at Barley Republic was anything less than excellent. We take pride in our food and make almost everything in house from scratch which requires more time to prepare. Unfortunately we find this review troubling for several reasons. 1- We do not use Cod as stated in this review, we use Haddock. 2- The Caesar dressing is homemade and not a vinaigrette; the Parmesan cheese is high quality and fresh grated. 3- The fries/chips are hand cut daily and fried fresh to order making it difficult for them to have been dry. Nevertheless we strive to satisfy all of our customers and wish we had been notified of the issues on site so we could have takecanary necessary steps to improve your visit. We hope that you will give us a second try sometime and that your experience is a much better one. Thank you for your review, we appreciate any and all feedback. - Management

We FINALLY stopped in after walking by every day this week, looking at the menu and saying, "we have to go here this week!"

There was live music last night out on the deck so we went in for a couple drinks. We couldn't resist the food though even though we had already eaten dinner. The fish and chips, fries and Irish bomb cupcake - all delish!!!

The owners, a young couple who relocated here to follow their dream of opening a restaurant have really created a very welcoming place with great food and drink, live music, good value and just a nice place to chill after walking through all the historic streets.

This is a definite must-eat-at when you are in St. Augustine!

We really enjoyed this place for it's beer selection, and it's food. Just one street over from St George, it's definitely not out of the way, and a far better place to eat than most on St George St. They had Mamas Little Yella Pilsner on tap! Very nice! The turkey pot pie was so good, I dreamt about it that night. My girl had the shephards pie, no ground meat here. They used real chunks of meat that were fork tender and a smooth gravy. Don't bypass the Tuscan fries. fresh cut fries with truffle and porcini dust! Blam!

Barley Republic was by far the best place we ate in St. Augustine.

The beer selection, both on tap and in bottles, was varied and delicious. The food was great, inexpensive, and filling. Both of the owners are very nice and have put a lot of hard work into making Barley Republic a nice, casual place to have a good beer and a great plate of food. The fish and chips, corned beef sandwich, and crawfish boil are all delicious, and the BLAT was one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. :)

By far the BEST Pub food I've EVER had! The Potato Soup was unlike any I've had before. Highly recommended. The Grassy Knolls were playing the night we visited. Their music drew us in but the food brought us back!
