This scenic cruise was GREAT! We were after a relaxing few days here and this hit a high note. We took the sunset cruise at 6:45. Not many children, not crowded (may have been off-season); sodas were only $1.00; adult beverages ranged from $2-$5. It was relaxing going around the inlet. Captain stopped so we could just enjoy the dolphin pod beside us.

Definitely would do this again. A Great 1 1/2 hours spent!

“Relaxing ride”
Reviewed January 8, 2012

The Victory III is a two-deck cruise boat that does a 1 ½ hour tour of the Matansas River and Mantasas Bay, leaving several times a day from the St. Augustine Municipal Marina. Be aware that the ticket office is in the building next to the Marina on the street side. It is just a window and is poorly marked.

Once on board the boat, you have the choice of sitting in the enclosed lower deck or the open upper deck. Either way, there are tables and chairs that can be moved around for the best view. The route goes by the Oldest Fort in North America (everything in St. Augustine is billed as the oldest something), a giant cross commemorating the oldest something, and then out into the bay toward the St. Augustine lighthouse.

A highlight of the trip was the sighting of a group of dolphins that stayed around the boat for the entire trip. And, as it was the last trip of the day, we were treated to a beautiful sunset over the city.

Two years ago my family took a boat ride on Victory III. We were amazed at how clean, how friendly and how well run this boat was. Since then we have ridden many times bringing extended family members and friends. Our trips were never a disappointment. This past week we once again brought quests and we were shocked at the change. The woman at the ticket window was so busy texting that she didn't even realize we were waiting for her assistance. The boat which has always been spotless was anything but. There was food debris on the carpet, the windows smudged and diffultcult to see out of, and the decks looked like they hadn't been cleaned for some time. To make matters worse the crew was inattentive. We were embarrassed for our guests.

“Relaxed Boat Ride”
Reviewed December 2, 2011

The Scenic Cruise was an excellent way to spend $16 per person and 1 hour and 15 minutes in St. Augustine. The boat is well equipped and maintainted with friendly employees. Narration by the boat captain was informative and enjoyable. Views of the fort, light-house, in-let, islands, etc. were outstanding. We strongly recommend the Scenic Cruise for anyone visiting St. Augustine.
