We thought fwe would finally give this spot a try and were very pleasantly surprised! If Hooters couldnt make it in this location we were skeptical about this new option. There was a wait for a table but the staff was really friendly, professional, and attentitive and our wait was only a couple of minutes. Bartender was friendly and quick, server took great care of us and really knew the menu well and the food was great! Lots of fresh fish with interesting sauces and preparations. We will definitely try it again and if it is as good as this visit, we will raise our rating to 5 stars!

I can make a meal on the sides alone. I place an order to go for the next day. I have never liked beets until I ate there. Their mixed veggies are full of flavor.

After shopping at the Jacksonville Mall, we decided once again to visit the Black Molly Grill. Upon our arrival and no wait to be seated, we inquired if the menu had changed. We were told of the 3 specials but our server did add, have you tried one of Chef Jason's special sauces? I ordered a breast of chicken with a "cherry" sauce and my friend had a small steak with s spicy red sauce. Both entrees were just plain delicious. The sauces in lieu of lemon or steak sauce were fantastic - Chef Jason need not change his menu - with chicken, steak, or fish that is on the menu, have it topped off with a special "sauce"! Congratulations Jason, you know how to make a good dinner supberbly enhanced with a fantastic sauce (and so many of them to choose from)! While we waited for our meals we enjoyed a 2 for 1 house special cocktail and later a home made pie (by Jason) that made our day complete. Chef Ryan cooked our meals adding his touch of perfection in having our entree's cooked extrodinarly well. Molly's is very lucky to have two fine chefs and co-owners including great kitchen and table service. We definitely will be back again!

We were looking for some good food in the area and saw this place on Urban Spoon, noting it got a 92% thumbs up rating, so we thought we'd give it a shot. Couldn't be more pleased. It is near downtown but a few streets over so you aren't overlooking the water. In fact, it's in a strip mall type area and looked pretty plain. However, don't let the exterior fool you. This place was great. Big portion sizes, unique dishes (a simple menu but good variety), prices were excellent and the bread - oh the bread. We found a coupon for half price bottle of wine with purchase of two entrees in the travel mag from the hotel. We weren't sure we would drink it all but don't you know, they re-corked it and we were able to take it with us. Hello, can't beat that! Oversized booths with butcher block paper for drawing on make it a good option for people traveling with children. And our waiter, Vinnie, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant and the food choices.

Tried this restaurant as someplace new. The positives were we had no wait, our server was great, beer was a bargain, and the bread was delicious. I had shrimp and scallops with a side of spinach that was perfectly prepared. The salad was uninspiring and the shrimp was rubbery. My friend had stuffed fish that was dry. We both thought the meal OK but are not dying to return.
