Haszards is a great little place further south on The island. They have a small menu but good BBQ and offer an at home feel. The added bonus is the owners sing and play guitar on weekend nights. They are very good and it adds to the relaxed atmosphere. They also offer specials such as fish and grilled pork loin. Crab cakes remind you of up north! So if you want away from the loud crowded beach joints...come here and get on Island time! Locals love this place!

Haszards has become the weekly go-to spot for lunch after our group of volunteers complete a shift of scanning the ocean for the elusive and severely endangered Northern right whales during the 10 weeks of winter when mother-and-calf pairs are found in our ocean waters, which is the species' preferred birthing ground.

The $6.99 lunch special, a sandwich featuring barbecue beef (superb, but currently a 30cent surcharge on account of rising beef prices), pulled pork, barbecue turkey, or hot dog, with a side and a drink, hits the spot for a midday break. There's also usually a fish special, and always the option of Maryland-style crab cakes specially prepared by the proprietor and family who are from Ocean City, MD. Ocean city provides the decor theme for this small, friendly eatery in converted commercial premises. It's not easy to spot, overshadowed by a vast billboard for another establishment just up the road.

We haven't tried the evening menu, but it seems especially popular on Fridays, when the host and hostess get to perform their interpretations of their favorite country repertoire. The parking lot was full when we drove past last Friday, so they must be doing something right.

Found on Tripadvisor. Had good ratings and yes the crab cakes are great. Menu is not fancy but good quality. I had the fried fish sandwich. Fish was fresh, white and flakey. Will visit again.

We stopped in for lunch, just looking for a quick meal and not expecting much more than that. What we found was good food, prepared simply and served and with a lot of pride by nice people. They specialize in regional food from Eastern Maryland like crab cakes and pit beef. We tried the pick two menu, a nice way to allow diners to choose combinations that they prefer. My wife had the salad and potato soup, which she enjoyed. I had the pork sandwich and crab chowder, which was excellent. Although we really enjoyed the house made soups, we had minor regrets for not ordering the crab cakes or pit beef. So we decided to return for dinner and give those items a try, and before leaving we learned that we would also be treated to the owners strumming guitar and singing since it was Friday night. The crab cakes were great, the pit beef did not disappoint either. The onion rings and fries were very good as well, and overall we were very satisfied with our meals. The atmosphere with the homemade music was more like a neighbor's backyard picnic than a restaurant, very friendly and a nice way to enjoy a simple and well prepared meal. Nice local place that we will return to.
