After your St Augustine distillery tour and San Sebastián wine tasting stagger across the street for some pizza at Carmelo's. After an inexpensive lunch, but very tasty pizza, you can catch the trolley back on the tour.

We were looking for a good pizza on Saturday night, so we took the couple block stroll from the center of town to Carmelo's. It was busy and though the waitress said it would be 10-15 minutes, we were seated in less than 5 mins. The service was great and so was the pizza. They misunderstood our order, due to noise level I believe, but they got a replacement pizza out in very quick time and gave us a discount to boot. It was a very good pizza and overall, we enjoyed our visit. The only recommendation is that the staff should be a little more aware of louder patrons and perhaps ask them to tone it down a little. There was a family of 6 middle-aged or older folks who, helped on by their drinks I am sure, did not stop talking and laughing in a very loud tone. It was nothing rowdy but it was definitely annoying to several of the couples sitting nearby that wanted to just interact with each other in a normal tone, without the shrillness and volume of the one group. Once they left, the place was much more pleasant.

We were going to do a catered menu from Harry's for our wedding, but the catering manager proved impossible to reach and never returned our calls. We tried a few other places in St. Augustine, but nothing struck our fancy. Cue Carmelo's! We decided to order pizza, and Carmelo's came up as a good option from the start. Despite having been to St. Aug a bunch, we had never heard of this place - an unassuming pizza joint next to a gas station. Turns out, their pizza is absolutely amazing! The manager, Margaret, helped us with our order, and she was a pleasure to work with. They delivered our order on time and exactly as we ordered it. They also provided plates and plastic ware. Plus, we saved tons of money when compared to other places in St. Augustine, and all our guests loved it. The Meat Supreme was one of the best slices of pizza I've ever had. We'll be back!

Well you get what you pay for, we ordered slices of pizza, and salad. The waitress neglected to inform us of the 2 slice special that comes with a soda. I had the veggie which was good, and husband had Hawaiian and pepparoni. The salad was iceberg lettuce a few slices of cucumber and tomato, nothing to write home about. House wine 5.00.

Quality pizza at a reasonable price. Mixture of locals and tourists. It’s connected to a gas station so you can get your gas and a pack of smokes all in one stop :)
