The kids will definitely love this one. Well kids of all ages actually. Alot of interesting facts as well as artifacts and relics on display. It is well worth the time to go through this museum. If you rush you will definitely miss something.

They had a lot of facts and literature posted all over to read and learn about the history of the collected artifacts. My only complaint is that it is all reading. This was the quietest museum I had ever visited because everyone was too busy reading. It was nice to visit once but I wont go again.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know your thoughts about your visit. With over 800 authentic artifacts, there are text labels with dates and descriptions for each one, which is important in a museum. We do have many other interactive activities aside from the collection, including videos, an interactive world map, the amazing 3-D audio show of Blackbeard's Last Battle, created by Disney Imagineers, the real cannons that can be fired, and ambient sounds in each of the galleries all of this and more, depicting what you might hear if you were actually present during the Golden Age of Piracy. It's actually quite a loud experience to walk through!

If you are interested in pirates, this is a great little museum to visit. Lots of info and displays on pirates throughout history. Lots of interactive displays. It seemed to be really popular for children when we were there.

My husband and I visited this museum with our two young kids (ages 2 and 4). It was a pretty small museum, but had a lot of interesting things to see. The frequently fired cannon sound was a little scary for our two-year-old. When we entered the museum we were given a "map" with a dozen or so "hidden" items to find throughout the museum. This "treasure hunt" proved to be the most entertaining part of the visit for our four-year-old. I think our kids may have been just a little young to really appreciate this museum. I would have liked to see more age-appropriate hands-on, interactive displays that might have engaged our young children a little better.

Seriously, the collection of "treasure" this place has is impressive and I thought the exhibits were extremely interesting and well presented. The focus was mainly on pirate history, but of course some of this is shared history with the location, so it really marries well. There were several interactive exhibits that really modernized the typical museum experience. We enjoyed!
