I was fortunate during my last stay in St. Augustine to discover the museum! Upon entering I was immediately greeted by the friendliest, most professional pirate I have never met. The manager Laura was passionate about the museum and was willing to take time to explain the contents and the history of this place! The level of interacation was terrific! I hope to bring my sons on our next visit! I am also looking foward to the soon to be opened outdoor portion of the museum which will only heighten the experience! Thanks to Laura and everyone that keeps the Pirate history alive! JD

This museum contains lots of historical artifacts and a history of all the famous pirates. Some more famous than others. There were several areas of interaction that you could participate in including firing a canon, listening to a narration from the hull of a ship narrating Blackbeard's demise, and other wax figures that talked. There were many different videos narrating oceological findings.
This museum is very interesting but might be a little too deep for young children.

I visited on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in late October and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised with the exhibits. Most were interactive and the museum had really neat artifacts and historical records. The journey takes you through a pirate ship setting, which is great for setting the tone.

My 11 yr old daughter really loved this museum - it was her 2nd favorite spot in St Augustine (1st being the Fort). There are a lot of interesting exhibits and historical info. The younger children there did not seem to enjoy it so I would not bring young children to this museum.

The museum is quite small, but it worth the price. You will learn a lot about pirate history and will find real stuff in there. The interactive part is also very interesting. The only sad point is you don't have the right to take any picture of the exposition.

We're glad you enjoyed the museum and learned so much about pirate history! We do allow photography in the museum, but not flash photography because of the age of the books and documents inside. Thanks for understanding!
