We took our kids for Spring Break and the tours were booked - so we made reservations and took our husbands and the kids for Father's Day weekend! It was an educational experience for them (8 years old) and a lot fun for all. Mike was our tour guide and made the tour fun and informative. They had 2 chocolatiers working that day and only one of them participated in our tour. We got to see the process of a chocolate mold being filled as well as how the chocolates are wrapped in foil for packaging. It is short tour with a quick information video at the beginning; maybe about 30-40 minutes for the entire tour. It of course ends in store where you can purchase the goodies! There is a $2 off coupon on adult admission tickets (which are $8) valid towards any purchase in the store.

The chocolate was great and the tour was very informative. I didn't catch the name of the tour guide but it was the last tour of the day on Friday the 13th of June. We really enjoyed the tasting as well as the information that we were given about the Whetstone and their factory. We did buy chocolate at the end of the tour and it was great. I just have a comment in regards to sanitation issues regarding the glove that was on the hand of the tour guide that was passing out the candy. We were told that he had to hand out the candy himself that was the rules and he didn't make them up himself and while I do understand that but while wearing the glove he was handling out samples jars to show us on the tour of the chocolate bean process.. He also was clasping his ungloved hand together with the gloved hand. There was also a gentleman that came up to our tour guide toward the end of the actual factory part of the tour and shook the hand of the tour guide with the gloved hand. I would either suggestion that the glove be changed out at each sampling or use little sheets to hand out the sample and have a different sheet at each sampling area.

Thank you for your comments. We will speak to all tour guides about our glove policy which is contrary to what occurred.

I took a group of kids here recently as part of our summer camp travel experience. The tour guide was an older man who was informative, funny, and really kept our kids engaged! The kids enjoyed the tour of the factory as well as learning about the origins of chocolate and what sorts of products Whetstone has offered to the community. They gave our samples throughout the tour which was nice and gave the kids - and adults alike - something to look forward to. The tour also requires that you were hairnets which created a lot of fun photo ops for our students. I would recommend this tour to everyone!

Our tour guide (his name was Ty) did a really good job explaining the chocolate making process in a captivating, informative, and fun manor, and I would highly recommend taking this tour when in St. Augustine, Florida. The chocolates at the store were excellent!

We went on a tour to see how chocolate is made. Joe was a great guide. We were able to sample 5 pieces of chocolate and some fudge. We went into the factory and saw how they make the different shapes and wrap them. It cost $8 each but you were given a $2 off coupon per ticket so the cost was not bad at all!
