This is probably our fourth visit to the AF. We caught it at the end of the rookery season so there were still lots of fledglings in the nests. The alligators wee active and the birds were very watchful.
It's a good place to visit with the kids, the alligators are very impressive. we will try the zip line on our next visit in the Fall. it's too hot in July!

We went here on a very hot day. Prices were high and expected much more than what we saw. Once you saw the first few crocodiles and alligators you saw them all.
The girls were bored. The coolest part of the alligator farm was the boardwalk where you got to feed the alligators ( just like the catfish you see all over ) .

Didn't take long to walk through even with reading most of the signs. We waited to see the feeding and was pretty disappointed with that!

We only had the afternoon to visit the St. Augustine Alligator Farm, as time was getting tight toward the end of our visit to Florida, but our teenage daughter insisted that we go. The skies were also forbidding, which was par for the course during the time we were away. It turned out to be great fun, even with the unplanned sojourn in the snack bar area inside the Farm, waiting it out with other visitors, and having a beer and soda while we waited for the lightening and thunder to pass. Even with that chunk of time out of our visit, we were able to see most all of the Alligator Farm, but did not see any of the shows that are every hour on the hour. After the deluge, the rain continued, but we still had a ball seeing the many alligators and crocodiles (do not miss Maximus, a humongous croc), and monkeys, colorful birds and prehistoric lizards. Especially for people with an interest in wildlife, or with kids who love reptiles and scary creatures--you will have a wonderful time. It is not inexpensive, however ($60 + for the three of us) but not bad for an attraction that will hold your interest, is fun for kids, and is both educational and downright cool. Great gift shop, too, with very cool tee shirts!

You can safely get quite close to the alligators and the talks by the keepers are interesting. There even is an area where you can feed some of the alligators. There are lots of different types of alligators and crocodiles on show as well as lots of different other animals such as vulchers, parrots, lemurs and snakes.

We were disappointed. Since this is the most expensive thing we did in St Augustine, we expected a lot more.
We may be spoiled but we love zoos and expect to spend at least half a day when we go. We walked the entire park (and I read signs and take lots of pics) in just over an hour! We only watched one show because I could hardly expect my children to be patient and wait for the hourly shows once we had already walked the whole park.
I was not expecting anything like Busch Gardens but we frequent Lowry Park Zoo and Homosassa Springs which fall in the same price point as the Alligator Farm but offer so much more. Maybe the Tampa Bay area has spoiled us for zoos :-)
My rating would have been much better if we had gotten in for half the price but, for this price, I expect more. Especially since we can spend at least a half day for the same price at the zoos closer to home even after we have seen them dozens of times.
