Location couldn't be better, rooms are starting to need a redo, but still being able to walk to everything is a big bonus. People are very friendly. Restaurants are close, trolley stop is just around the corner, recommend everyone take this first to get your bearings, and decide which attractions you'd like to visit.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms in back, away from main road

Pleasantly surprised. The hotel seemed like a converted motel. Was very nice. View of the bay across the street. Close walk to everything. Close to O.C.White's Restaurant. Room was very large. Had a breakfast included... fair. Coffee and tea all day and cookies late afternoon. They have a pool...to cold to use.

Room Tip: second floor has better view of bay

We booked a Friday night here after a night at St. George Inn. The weather prediction was for rain & lots of it so I called to see if we could check in early and were told we could get in at 1:30. At 11:30 we went over to see if we could park our car there & they checked us in and upgraded our room because they didn't have a queen room upstairs which we had requested. Our room was very nice, and the breakfast included a great egg, cheese and ham scramble. We will go back!

I especially liked the location of this hotel. It is on the edge of Old Town and across the street from the bridge that leads to the Beaches area. The location is also close to many of the restaurants that received high ratings on TripAdvisor. Old Town itself is easily walkable; but if you want to take your car to the Beaches area, the bridge is right there.

The rooms themselves are somewhat on the small side with not much room for anything else but the beds. The breakfasts served in the morning are the kind you might serve at home for guests--breakfast casserole type dishes along with a variety cereals and breads for toasting. Cookies are, also, available in the lobby in late afternoon.

My husband and I stayed here overnight this past Friday and overall were very pleased. We had Room #202 on the second floor, a single queen bed, and the room smelled nice, was clean and looked like it had recently been renovated, newer bath fixtures, etc. The hotel is well maintained, and there were a number of pleasant people sweeping the walkway in front of the rooms, watering the potted plants next to each room, etc. Dee at the front desk was very helpful, and did everything she could to make sure our stay was the best it could be. The hotel is very close to everything, an easy walk to King Street with all of its restaurants and shops. Nice basic breakfast was included with the room - scrambled eggs, a hash brown dish and the usual assortment of breads and cereals. My only caution is that, because it is an older hotel, the walls are pretty thin, so if you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs (I did, and didn't hear anything - my husband did not, and heard more than he wanted to ;) I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on our next trip to St. Augustine!

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor have a clearer view of the water across the street

We drove into St Augustine late in the afternoon and randomly selected the Bayfront Inn, It was in a good location and I requested an upstairs room with a good view and king size bed, The room was a bit dated with worn carpet and a musty smell. But it was comfortable and the king size bed was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They let us check before noon but leave our car in their lot so we could do some sightseeing, It is always nice to have free wifi and a complimentary breakfast that was included.

Room Tip: We liked being upstairs with a better view and chairs and table by the door to relax,

My family enjoyed a 2 night stay at the Bayfront Inn. Our boys (ages 6 and 8) loved the view of the waterfront and could see the lighthouse. We stayed Monday to Wednesday in March. The hotel was close to full but never felt crowded. The weather was cool, so we were the only I saw in the pool area during our stay.

Our room was not ready upon our arrival and I was offered to receive a call to my cell when ready, which I didn't. No biggie as we were out snacking in the meantime. The reception was not overtly friendly, but not unpleasant either. Friendliness with all staff at the desk during our stay seemed to be more of a reaction than an offer.

Our upstairs room (213) was about in the middle of the property. We could easily hear other guests on each side and below us (tv and talking, but not plumbing). Some neighbors are more considerate than others. Keep the thinner walls in mind if important to you. There is a quiet time listed on info sheet of 10pm which seemed to be about when it stopped. We never heard any road noise inside the room like I assume you would on the north side of the historic district.

Our room was clean and well decorated. A few years since its last remodel and showed some expected light wear and scuffs. The bed was comfortable with fluffy pillows and duvet. Housekeeping came and changed out towels and toiletries.

We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast each morning. A pan of oatmeal with cranberries and apples was particularly tasty. My early-riser husband missed it since he was there before the 8:00 a.m. warm offerings.

Location is key to the Bayfront Inn. Add the comfortable and clean room. Then add the safe and maintained property. Plus the reasonable rate. You get super value like few others in the historic district. We recommend Bayfront Inn to couples and families alike and would stay again if given the opportunity.
