My spouse and I were traveling throughout Florida with no particular agenda. I had seen the Penny Farthing Inn referenced at tripadvisor and thought it would be a good stop.
No complaints really. The house is wonderfully decorated. Our room, though small, had a wonderful character and we had one of the best night sleeps in a long time.
Beverages were available throughout the day including wine which was very welcome after a long drive through torential rain.

Marie was very helpful and a joy to talk to. We had a lovely breakfast and it was time to go.

I wish we could have stayed longer, but there was so much more we wanted to see farther south.

Not sure how much partying and spring break mayhem happens around this area, but the Penny Farthing is the best location to avoid the noise.

My husband and I had an amazing time at The Penny Farthing Inn. We stayed in Penny's Attic which was so cozy and romantic. Marie and David were so kind and accomadating, and the breakfasts were delicious and elegant. We will definitely be back!

We stayed over a night at the Penny Farthing on our way from Wisconsin down to Central Florida. We have to say it was the NICEST bed & breakfast we've stayed at to date! The house is absolutely gorgeous and well taken care of (the pictures on the website don't do it justice) and the owners are VERY welcoming and friendly!

One of the reasons we chose this particular B&B was that it allowed one-night stays, which most of them don't. That right there tells you something about the owners! The location is perfect. The trolley goes right past the house and you can hear the clop clop of the horse & carriages as they go by also. Most everything to see is within easy walking distance from the house.

We stayed in The Victoria room, which was just beautiful. Loved the colors! It's located on the 2nd floor at the front of the house and has a little porch outside with some chairs and a hammock where you can sit and watch everything go by!

We can't wait to go back again on our next trip down!

For years Sarah has yearned to take a trip to St. Augustine, Florida. We only live 3 hours away in Tallahassee, Florida.
Finally, after 10 years of marriage, I finally made her wish come true.
The Penny Farthing turned out to be the total package for our four day romantic getaway. The owners, Marie and David are absolutely the most gracious and charming hosts. Once I mentioned that I was bringing Sarah there for our 10th, it was ALL ON as far as they were concerned.
They helped me put a complete package together that included the chocolates and roses for Sarah on our arrival; the carriage ride, including the stop at the "Kissing Tree" where I re-proposed to her with ring and all! I even got to ride the Penny-Farthing bicycle that they have on the back porch. (I do not suggest this for the short or feint of heart!)
Their wonderful breakfasts will tide you over till dinner, they're that plentiful! Their genuine concern for your happiness and excitement to hear all about where you've been in the Historic District was enlightening.
There is no doubt that we will be returning and we'll be bringing along our friends too!
Cheers to the Penny Farthing!
Tigger and Sarah.

Just got back from our stay at the Penny Farthing. The inn is wonderful!!! Marie is the most charming hostess. She made us feel so welcomed. This was an anniversay we will never forget and plan to make it a new tradition every year!!!

We stayed in the Cherry Rose room and loved sitting out on the balcony at night. We loved all the special touches, like the sherry in the room for a nightcap, that make you feel so comfortable.

Thank you again Marie for such a wonderful anniversay!!!

Me and my girl booked the Victorian Room. It was her first time in a bed and breakfast and she adored it...I as well. The hospitality was great...We especially enjoyed Marie's homeade cookies (which I think she should have patented...lol) Anyhow, anyone besmirching Marie is a fool.

We'll definitely be returning...
