This is a very old, traditional spanish casa in the old town of Saint Augustine. At first I wasn't too impressed, but the atmosphere grew on me. Breakfast was served in a beautiful room filled with antiques. The owners were very helpful, and we could walk to everything. Parking is definitely an issue and I wish we had known in advance that we would have to park about five blocks away. Because we had to leave a lot of personal items in the car, I was nervous leaving it in an open lot. We couldn't view the television from the bed so we had to move furniture around to watch tv. But there was a large jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and that was a pleasant surprise!

After researching for a long time we decided to stay at Casa De Solana last month, all we can say is the it exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the Kirby smith room (one of their two pet friendly rooms). The online pictures of the room to not justify it. the room was MUCH bigger than expected . It also had a flat panel TV and and a whirlpool tub. The California King bed was very comfy too.
The location couldn't be much better . Pet owners will be happy to know that a park is located half a block away. Half a block in the other directions there are several great restaurant option(we enjoyed cellar 6). You probably most likely will never need a car as this B&B is located within walking distance to most attraction. in fact the only time we used the car was to go to the beach(also pet friendly).
Cant say enough good things about the breakfast. Every morning a different plate was served along with oj, coffee, pastries cereal and more. My favorite was the cinnamon french toast. coffee is served most of the day and the evening wine and cheese was welcomed touch.
The staff here was exceptional . They gave great suggestions for site seeing and restaurants. In all, we couldn't of made a better choice to stay in st Augustine. Thank you so much

We stayed in the Mary Mitichell Room which was small but more than adequate.. no bath tub but real nice rain type shower. A flat screen TV and small frig is in the room. It had a ground floor entrance off of it own patio with two chairs and a small table for enjoying mornings or evenings outside. The sleep number mattress was extremely comfortable.. I slept like a baby! The breakfast was scrumptous each morning, plus wine & cheese with other guest in the evenings. There is a pull in area for unloading your vehicle but there isn't any parking at the premise. Guest parking is provided a short three blocks away. The staff is friendly and helpful in all situations. It was a very pleasant place to stay. The location is right in the heart of the historic district and very walkable or take the trolley!

Spent 2 nights at this b&b. Discounted rate on Hotel.com. Prepaid with no refund if cancelled within 1 week of arrival.
Easy to find at the end of Aviles street, right next to the Victorian House b&b. Second oldest street in St. Augustine.
Stayed in the Mary Mitchell room, on ground floor of annexe. Guests in room above who we could not hear.
My wife loved the breakfast each morning. On the first day it rained in the late afternoon and the b&b lent us an umbrella.
Bed was a king sleep number bed, not a queen as advertised.
Parking offsite about 10 minute walk way, not a problem if you can walk.

Room Tip: Pick a room on an upper floor, we got lucky!

Casa de Solana is a Wonderful choice for a getaway to St. Augustine, FL. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Not to mention the breakfast was fantastic. Jeff made us some delicious egg, ham and cheese crepes with hollandaise that rivals any breakfast restaurant around. Our room, the Montejurra Room was extremely spacious and romantic. Especially with the balcony and rocking chairs, and GIANT whirlpool tub. It was very charming, ALL OF IT! I definitely recommend that you stay here. Not to mention it is on what I like to think of as the hidden gem of a street in St. Augustine; Aviles Street. Very quaint and free of the hustle and bustle of the tourists you find on St. George Street. Very Very nice with various restaurants right across the street. Thank you Jeff for making our anniversary very memorable!

Room Tip: Montejurra Room for a romantic getaway!

I have nothing but good things to say about this bed-and-breakfast. My husband and I got married there last week and everything was lovely. The food was lovely, the people are lovely, and we met amazing people just hanging out at the dining room and courtyard. It was everything I could've ever hoped for and never dreamed possible. It was quaint and quiet and absolutely amazing.

Great location within a short walking distance to everything in the "Old Town" area. We were visiting St. Augustine celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary and decided to try a B & B. We had never stayed at one so we took a leap of faith and decided on Casa de Solana. We enjoyed the experience so much that we will definitely look to stay in B & B's from now on.

We stayed in the Montejurra room which is directly above the dining room and is big with approx. a 10-12' ceiling. I am 6' 3" and never felt cramped in the least, quite spacious actually. The room was beautifully appointed and maintained. We loved the fact that in this room the garden tub for two was in the bathroom and not in the middle of the sleeping area. We also liked the "rainfall" shower head mounted in the ceiling. The canopy bed is gorgeous and very comfortable. Other nice amenities worth mentioning: Free Wifi, individual room thermostat for AC, Bikes (free) available for check-out, small refrigerator, hair dryer, iron and facial cleaning towels--my wife loved these for make-up removal. Also, the room was extremely quiet, virtually no outside noise was noticed.

One reviewer complained about parking, well parking was actually closer to walk than to drive, because of "one way" streets. Never once complained about the walk from the parking lot because the sights were wonderful on the way back and depending on your pace it only took about 3-5 min., plus you would not want a parking lot next to the B & B because it would totally destroy the historic charm & beauty of the "Old Town" and this B&B.

Jeff the innkeeper, was wonderful and friendly. He also had some great suggestions for dining. We ate at "La Pentola" a couple blocks away on Charlotte Street and "Collage" on Hypolita Street. Both were wonderful dining experiences. The breakfasts served in the morning were wonderful creations. Plus, plenty of coffee, tea, milk, cereals, hard boiled eggs, croissants, scones, etc. The afternoon wine and cheese social was also a nice touch.

Not enough room in this review to say enough nice things about Casa de Solana!
My only advice to those researching where to stay is to just book your stay at this B&B and pick the Montejurra room.

Room Tip: The Montejurra Room was well worth the extra money!
