The Saragossa Inn B&B
Ranked #25 of 31 St. Augustine B&B and Inns
Reviewed November 20, 2012

This is the best Bed and Breakfast I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Gibbs cooks a wonderful, homemade breakfast from scratch and everything, right down to fresh hot cocoa was simply amazing! I was lucky to have found this place and did so only after exhausting other efforts to find a B&B that would let us stay for Saturday only (other places insisted that you stay and pay for the entire weekend). When I first called I was treated with the upmost courtesy (he was in the middle of shopping at the store) and when we got there it was good to see the curteous behavior did not end. Gibbs was very patient, showing us a map of St. Augustine and recommending various places to eat. He even told us that if we got lost, at whatever time of night, to call and he would try and help us find our way (we were doing a LATE ghost tour). The room was spotless (we stayed at the Homewood suite) and the location was quiet and the surroundings beautiful. We did not have the pleasure of meeting the other Inn Keeper but found Mr. Gibbs' abundant friendliness to be more than we had hoped for. In the future, I look forward to staying here again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

What a wonderful experience. The rooms were beautiful and clean. Very private. The proprietors were very professional and welcoming. The brunch was EXCELLENT! Within walking distance to everything. Private off-street parking. I could go on and on. We will definitely be back, and soon.

Room Tip: We stayed in Palm Breeze and had a simply wonderful experience. The room is not large, but it was pe...

We booked our stay like some others thru SniqueAway and were not disappointed. We were booked for three nights and enjoyed the entire visit. Gibbs (Innkeeper) is a very pleasant and gracious host as well as a gourmet chef. He gladly gives directions and advice about the city and restaurants. Our room the "Gardenmist" was perfect. Very nice bed and bath linens and beautiful room antiques. Nonsmoking in any area of the inn except outdoors and off street parking was a real plus. Within walking distance of shopping, historic district and lots of restaurants.

We had the pleasurable experience of staying at the Inn for one night on our way back to Miami. It is a unique little B&B. The first B stands for plush, comfortable sleeping accomodations. The second B for a delicious gourmet brunch! Not to be missed! Thank you Gibbs!

I booked this beautiful B&B through SniqueAway.com for my husband's birthday. He loves history (and food) and never been to Saint Augustine, I figured he would enjoy it. We've been to many places in our one year marriage, and he says this was the best trip we've ever done! Gibbs was so attentive and gave us great places to visit in our short time there. We also took his dining recommendations and my husband, who is a chef, was inspired by everything he tasted there. We learned so much, not only about the history but about the people there. Our last day, we talked to Gibbs for a couple of hours and he showed us around the inn. It's well kept and each room has something special about it.

St. Augustine is truly a wonderful town to visit, especially in September because it isn't crowded. However, my only complaint was that it was too quiet at night. It seems like life stops there after 9pm. I was told though that Christmas time is the best to visit. It is crowded then but it is one of the top 10 cities to get into the Christmas spirit.

We are definitely coming back to St. Augustine and to the Saragossa Inn. Thank you Gibbs!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Saragossa Inn. The inn itself is on a quiet side street just a couple of blocks from the old town shopping district in St. Augustine. The room we had (Palm Breeze) was very nice and offered it's own entrance. Gibbs was a wonderful host and an excellent chef, the brunch was always outstanding and was a highlight of our trip. We couldn't be more pleased and would absolutely recommend this inn. Additionally, we recommend St Augustine in September after Labor Day as it wasn't terribly crowded.

My wife and I took an impromptu trip to St. Augustine and searched for a pet-friendly B&B. We were not disappointed. The proprietor is wonderful and the breakfast is tops. Everything is in walking distance, but having a place to park in back is great. Great recommendations on things to do and restaurants, though we thought Harry's was OK. If anyone asks, we will recommend this place first. Thanks for your hospitality guys!!! -S
