My husband and I stayed at the Centennial for 3 nights for our anniversary. It was our first time there and to St. Augustine and we loved it. The place is just beautiful and everything was clean and comfortable. The hostess was very helpful and the owner was extremely friendly and hospitable. We will stay there again for sure but in a larger room next time. We loved the breakfasts also. Something different every morning and we were satisfied, not stuffed. I would recommend this place to all of my friends.

After much internet research, we chose the Centennial house due to proximity to attractions (St. George St. area), full breakfast, and accommodations (bed size, bath layout, etc.). This was for our 25th anniversary (in June 2005) and was the perfect place for us. We stayed in the Gentleman's Quarters which was very comfortable, had a nice shower separate from the jacuzzi tub, and immaculately clean. The location was very convenient to the historic area and our room was very quiet. Our breakfast was ample and delicious and served on the enclosed front porch. The only thing I'd do differently would be to stay in a downstairs room, but that's a personal preference more than commentary on the B&B. We were able to look in the other rooms (unoccupied ones) and all are beautiful and look just as comfortable and inviting as the one in which we stayed. As with most places in St. Augustine's historic area, parking is a premium and we were fortunate to have been able to use the parking on property. We used the green trolley for most sight-seeing and getting around in town which was great since parking is difficult. We're planning a short St. Augustine visit for Spring Break this year, but won't be staying at Centennial House only because we'll have our son with us and there was no 3 person accommodation available without getting a 2nd room. We do plan to return when our son has other plans. :) One other thing I'd do differently would be to stay during the winter when it's not so hot (but then this is Florida).

My husband and I wanted to do something very special for our 25th Wedding Anniversary-Feb 7th. We always wanted to see St. Augustine and stay in a B&B. After doing alot of reserch we decided on the Centennial House. We had the best time every. Ellen and Donna makes you feel very welcome. And they serve a great cup of coffee (the best I ever tasted) We had the Carriage room and it was so cool to listen to the clip-clop of the horse and carriage come down the road several times a day.
Since we couldn't fit everything in that we wanted to see, we will be back next year.
We have found that staying at a B&B is the way to go.

Looking for all of the modern conveniences of a large hotel but packaged in a restored home that reflects the ambiance of "old" St. Augustine? If so, don't hesitate to make a reservation at the Centennial House B & D. Park your car when you get there and forget about it because this establishment is within walking distance of all the shops and historical sites in St. Augustine. It is 1/2 block from the site seeing train station. This train provides an excellent narrarated historical tour. The breakfasts are great and the inn keepers are extremely pleasant and helpful. Going back to your room is just like going back to your own home. Very comfortable.
If I had 4 hands I'd give the Centennial House..Four Thumbs UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
