Booked this hotel through travelocity secret hotel rates...should have paid regular price some place else. It was close to the express way, but in a run down part of town, the room smelled musty. You can tell it was old, the bathroom was clean and had adequate towel. They offer a continental breakfast, it's decent enough if you like little bagels, hard boiled eggs and waffels. It also had coffee, some fruits, ceral and milk...almost forgot the bisquits and gravy. Hey it's free!. across the street is a Burger King, the hotel offers a package deal with the trolley company (that's a good deal!) for about $30.00 per person for 3 days, the shuttle bus will pick you up, take you to Historic St. Augustine and there you can catch the trolley all day long and sight see.
I won't go back to that hotel in the future when l visit St. Augustine again, if you're looking for something better, try the hotels closer to Historic St. Augustine, that's my plan next time.

The staff is very nice and helpful. Lobby area has newer carpet, but not the rooms. Not happy to see dogs on the furniture in the lobby. Right off I95, but quiet. 15 min drive to downtown St Aug. Right next to outlets Standard LQ breakfast was good. Pool seemed nice. The carpet in room was badly worn, felt dirty, and was damaged and patched in many spots. Furniture was in very poor condition - crushed cushions, stained, chipped, etc. ADA room had bathtub, no roll-in shower, and same carpet as other rooms. Suite does not have a separate room, just a bedroom w/seating area. Carpet goes up walls as baseboard - very dated. Drapes were off-track and very dusty and smelly. HVAC noisy, old style - no thermostat. Bathroom had granite but still felt old and worn. Scuffed walls, bad paint jobs. Towels ok. Bed was comfortable, linens seemed clean. I was told all rooms in hotel are in basically same condition due to age of hotel, though first floor is even worse because more pet-friendly so they get more wear. Housekeeping seemed to try hard to clean rooms but rooms desperately need updating - vacuums can only do so much. These rooms need a complete overhaul. I usually choose LQ with my dog, but if I returned to St Aug for more than a night, I would leave my dog home and choose another hotel. Ok for a stop off when travelling through the area with a dog, but not a destination hotel. No potty bags provided. No designated potty area, but at least grounds were clean and it seemed everyone picked up after their own dog.

Room Tip: If you have a dog: When you enter the lobby, ask for a room down the right hallway, on the first fl...

Very nice and clean rooms for the price. Nothing fancy, but the bed was very comfortable, linens pretty nice. There was a flat screen in the room. Free Wi-fi. Pets were welcome (and free). This is a great value.

LOGISTICS: Just off I-95 on the main road into town. Driving to downtown took about 10 minutes. We just happened to be passing thru during a prime weekend btwn Xmas and New Years so... options for staying closer to town were diminised by crowds and cost.

ROOM: Fine. Beds okay. Room AC vs. central air. quiet. Many pets on campus but detected no odors or other signs. Breakfast was typical.

While we did not take advantage of it, their jacuzzi (outside) was available 24 hours. A nice feature if you need to unwind tight muscles.

We paid $130+taxes for two. During this xmas event, they did not accept any of the travel magazine clip-out coupons. Sorry that we didn't realize in advance otherwise we might have been able to get a better deal thru the Internet sites.

Room Tip: ST AUG PARKING TIP: There is no onstreet parking to speak of. Just resign yourself to it and go for...

Stayed here one night on vacation. The room was well kept and clean, we don't travel with pets and where in the minority here. The animals where all quiet around us that night, and had no problems. The breakfast was suppose to be ready at 6am, on the morning of our departure. So we ate elsewhere, as we had to get going. Overall a good stay and would stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Quinta in St. Augustine. We chose this hotel because it was pet friendly, and seemed to have good revues~ and they were right! Very clean, exceptionally polite staff. Would definitely stay again. And the price was right too!
