“Fountain of Youth St. Augustine”

I am at a loss on any of the negative comments about this site. We almost didn't visit but I am sooo glad we did. You see the actual spot where Pounce de Leon landed. He actually thought he found the found of Youth but he did land and create the first settlement in America. I don't know how people want to "update" the site...you have the original cross De Leon placed to take claim on the land. I guess we should have something more technologically advanced in it's place? Well worth the money to visit this site. Ground are lovely and people well informed. THis is not to be missed

“Most enjoyable attraction”

This is where La Florida began. It felt like a special place. Go on the guided tours, but also take time to wander the grounds. For me it was very educational.

“Now I've been there....”

We did enjoy our visit to the Fountain of Youth. Though nothing special, it was a nice park. The planetarium show needs some serious money invested in updating it, but the man hosting the show did a fine job and we did learn something. There are peacocks walking around just waiting to show off!! We did our drink from the fountain, but we have yet to feel any youth returning! When the granddaughter gets older, we will probably visit again with her.

“Interesting and inexpensive.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2009

My husband and I took our 3 school aged children to this attraction and they enjoyed it. It was interesting to all of us. The kids enjoyed the squirls and peacocks as well as the grounds. I thought it was a fun thing to do as I just turned 40. The ticket booth lady was rude and snapped at us re: ticket prices. The tour guide was new and he let every one know (many times) that he was learning. Overall, it was fine. Now we can say we have seen it.

“The Fountain of Youth shows its age”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2009

The Fountain of Youth harkens back to the days when A1A was the main road and schlock was king. Fun for it's tackinesss and cheesiness, reminiscient of a 5th grade social studies strip slide projector presentation. Could the place be updated? Undoubtedly. Should it be updated? I'm not so sure. In this age of technological wizardry there is something fun about experiencing something that is truly retro...not because it tries to be but because it is. Educational? Not really. Interesting? Sort of.
Fun? Well, nostalgia isn't what it used to be but this is an ok way to kill an hour or so...
