This was 14 miles out of St.Augustine a small boat takes you out to the point where the fort is situated it is free unfortunately when we arrived there was a storm so the boat was unable to go but it did look interesting

“Little historical find!”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

Interesting little piece of St Augustine history. Built after the siege of Oglethorpe in 1740, on Rattlesnake Island. The fort was restored an maintained by the Park Authority in 1924. They also have a great little gift shop and show a little video. Recommend getting the book, St Augustine then and now, before you visit.

“Little know freebie !!!”
Reviewed October 3, 2012 via mobile

We went the the other day after reading some of the other reviews on this. We had apx. a 25 min wait, however our tour guide for the first trip was great. You could tell by the way he was acting that he knew his stuff and loved his job. I would recommend this little side trip to everyone.

“historic”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

Especially with kids it is good to go for one of the 'firings' of the cannons which on weekends is every hour. It is done by men in costumes and well worth it.
