“Great unusual place to visit”
Reviewed December 9, 2013

The museum is HUGE! It takes a good two to three hours to tour, but is well worth the time spent. There are many oddities, pieces of colletor's art, antiques, period pieces. I was surprised that the children liked this tour...thought it would only appeal to adults!

“Great Exhibits and ambiance”
Reviewed December 6, 2013

Loved the cafe for our lunch, great food and service. The shops surrounding it are also a nice diversion. The exhibits in the museum were well placed, lighted and informative. Definitely will recommend to others.

“Not ready for the holidays”
Reviewed December 5, 2013

Went for the curator's tour. We have been to the Lightner before and enjoyed it but wanted to go back for the tour. The curator continually apologized for not being ready as they were preparing a special exhibit for the weekend. I'm sure it was nice but I felt short changed as we would not have come back (and paid another $20) just to see what we had already viewed. Most of the decorations weren't up, the tree wasn't up, the room wasn't dressed. We got to see pictures in a book and were told how cool it would have been if it were done.

i love it here its so beautiful and alive with history. 3 floors full of amazing things and if your a history nerd like me then its great.....one thing they could do is have a section just about the history of the building i know they have things all over the place but mabe a book with all the old photos and sign in from the hotel that would be awsome

“Seriously fascinating museum”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

Lightner purchased Flagler's old Alcazar Hotel and filled it with a lifetime's worth of collectibles. Lightner was a serious "pack rat" type collector of anything and everything and filled up the three floors with thousands of period pieces from the early 1900's. From cigar wrappers to Tiffany lamps and complex player musical contraptions that still work - this place will fascinate you for hours.
