The largest historic site in St. Augustine. We just happened to get there 1/2 hour before the demonstration cannon firing. Well worth the $7/person.

Simply amazing this fort is still standing. Ocean air and all... Neat re-enactments of cannon firing a must. Caution: there are display cannons on the outside SE corner that really shouldn't be sat on. They are non-working cannons, but my family sat on one and was politely escorted off it by one of the men dressed up like a Spanish doll. They need to put more signs around it to let you know. Otherwise, the help here are great at their jobs!

Walking shoes are a plus here. Wonderful old fort. Lots of history and the tour guide was perfectly in character. You'll really enjoy this bit of history. Kids love it. They can really use their imaginations on the ramparts.

A great place to visit, the views from the top is great and if you stay to enjoy the cannon fire, you wont regret it. Millitary and Veterans get in for free and can bring up to 2 people in for free with them. There is a lot of history there. Enjoy!

We loved our visit to the Castillo. We were there in time to see the firing of the cannon and took the self guided tour. There is a lot of wonderful history posted all throughout the tour. Very enjoyable.
