The singer Coconi at the tiki bar and pool last Sunday 10/7/12 was definitely amazing! One of the best things I've ever seen and I will definitely back she made my stay. Thank you Safety Harbor Spa, I'll back to see Coconi.

My husband I decided to take our weekend getaway here despite all of the "all over the place" reviews. We booked our weekend with the all-inclusive package. Arriving Friday evening, and leaving Sunday afternoon, check out 11:00. Our weekend was absolutely wonderful....They greeted us when we pulled in like we were friends..The first night we used the valet parking due to a Music Festival that was going on down the street, so parking was limited..So by the end of the evening we decided to park in the free-self parking instead of paying $10.00 per day for valet. The first night that we arrived we got settled and then went to the restaurant for the dinner that was part of our package..we figured "all- inclusive" usually is a very limited selection, but to our surprise the menu for the all-inclusive was very nice. Choice of steak (yummy), Parmesan crusted Tilapia (yummy), three choices of pasta, or catch of the day(my husband had this, Mahi Mahi, he said it was yummy). There was also a vegetarian selection. You also got a nice salad, bread, choice of a vegetable -Green Beans, Carrots or Mixed Veggies (fresh veggies). Choice of a starch - Garlic Leek Mashed Potatoes, Sweet Potato Mash or Wild Rice. (the garlic leek mashed potatoes were to dye for...yummy!!) And you also got a choice for dessert...(the chocolate cheese cake was yummy!!) The breakfast buffet was also great..made to order omelets, and lots of other great choices for your sides...ohhh, and the coffee is wonderful... They give you a bracelet at check in to wear so the staff at the hotel know that you are part of the all-inclusive for your meals and for free soda, tea, water..etc...you also get the "alcohol-drink of the day" for free. First day was gin & tonic, second day was whiskey sour, and last day was vodka & lemonade...If you didn't like those you could get draft beer or wine for $2.00. Then there is the spa.... Package included 25 minute spa selection, we received the massage....They were so nice in the spa. Treated us like we were "Members of the Club", which they do have club memberships for the locals.. The massage was wonderful!! They do charge an 18% service fee for each of the meals that you have and for the spa service. Which part of it is gratuity to the server, and part goes to the resort. I had no issues with it, the total fees worked out to about $60.00 for the whole weekend. But to us, where would you get two wonderful dinners, two wonderful breakfasts, two massages and all your drinks free for two people for $60.00?? So to us the fee/gratuity was worth it!! As far as some of the other reviews having issues with the smell, or water stained ceilings, we only saw one area in the lobby. As far as the smell, this place is old , but a good old..it has a lot of history. Just ask the staff and they will guide you to things and places to see (One of the towers has a preserved room from many, many, many years ago) Very cool to see!!!.....We will definitely be planning another trip here!!

Just spent three wonderful days here at the Spa with my sister for a complete relaxing stay. Found all the staff helpful and friendly. Chris at the Tiki Bar treated us like regulars. Our rooms was larger than the average hotel room, clean and the beds were wonderful. Spa service, well just awesome. I was dissapointed in the pedicure and manicure services however, nothing spa like about them. That said I will be be back, to indulge in all the other services offered. Also enjoyed the nice resaonably prioced continental each morning and the Wednesday Steak and Lobster tail with those yummy leek and galic mashed was delicious. Well Done SHR & S.

We stayed in this hotel in early July. We often travel to the area to visit family and like to reserve a resort so that the children can use the pool and other hotel amenities. It was apparent that the hotel had been beautiful in another era. The hotel seemed understaffed and the housekeeping was sadly lacking. The first room we stayed in was dirty. I leaned against the headboard to read a book and my hair stuck to it - a sweet sticky substance that had not been cleaned. The carpet from the bed to the bathroom was soaked - must have been a leak underneath. The hallways were not vacuumed often. When we complained to the Manager he gave us another room - supposedly the best in the house. The view from the second room was spectacular but the appointments were dated. The pool was "okay" - nothing to write home about. We did not book any spa appointments so are unable to comment on those. We ate breakfast in the hotel. The servers were extremely nice but the food was only satisfactory. We should have stayed at the Intercontinental in Tampa across from the Westshore Mall where we have always been pleased with our stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of Tampa Bay. Also it appeared that some of the rooms were refurbished re...

We had heard that it was a wonderful place to spend the evening. It being our 1 year anniversary, my husband and I wanted to experience something unique. We reserved the junior suite for one evening. Nearly $300 later (a resort and an "occupancy tax" included), we were disappointed with our choice. The room was nicely decorated, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom had a lovely tub. Why were we disappointed? The kitchen had a dripping vent that we noticed while standing in the small kitchen. The space of the kitchen and the constant dripping made it nearly impossible to use half the kitchen where the vent was located. We decided to go for a swim. To our dismay the crowd in the pool area were making "animal calls" to their friends who were calling back at them from their hotel rooms. Not what we expected/have experienced when staying at a resort. Not relaxing for us so we went for a stroll to explore the "shops" we told of when we checked in. What shops? There were 2 shops and 1 was empty, as in no assistant present. The lunch by the pool was pleasant, but nothing we could not have ordered at the local food court. The dinner at The Fountain Restaurant, the resort's restaurant, was also disappointing. My husband ordered the Prime Rib, medium well, and received it rare. The next morning we had breakfast in the same restaurant (continental). The only thing that seemed fresh on the buffet table was the pineapple. Just overall, not what we had expected. We do not plan to return.

Located in a small community just on the outskirts of Clearwater. Stepping back into time when you walk in to the reception area. Charming dining room for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We just had dessert and breakfast in dining room and the food is very good, service is very good as well. Servers are happy to work and want to please. Got a great rate, went through priceline.com. A good value for the money. Did not have a mini fridge in room, called front desk and one was sent up free of charge. Room was garden patio facing pool. Nice lounge area on brick paver with the most comfortable lounge chairs that were so relaxing having a glass of wine and cheese, listening to poolside band. No real view of pool, however had alot of privacy of travelers palms in front of room. Nice french door and large glass windows on each side leading out to patio for relaxing. Me when we arrived and first thing in the AM with my coffee. Room was spacious and updated bathroom. The only down fall for the room was the AC was so cold or no air at all, had to wear socks to bed and chilly most of night. Spa was relaxing and Heather at reception was wonderful with personality and customer service. Elleyn took pride in her work place showing me around the spa and getting my whereabouts. Relaxing by pool after the hydro therapy tub. Poolside service, an amazing frozen mango margarita and yummy chicken on a bed of lettuce with bleu cheese and fresh avacoda, my kind of lunch by pool! Great getaway for the price. Oh the most important the hotel uses the spring water from their spring in resteraunt and for spa services as well as the plunge pool and lap pool. The spring water is really amazing and feels so fresh and invigorating! and tasty to drink with meals!!! Think the hydro bath made me feel the best I have felt in a long time after a spa treatment...

Room Tip: garden patio rooms nice and large, updated bathrooms

This is a historic hotel but very well maintained. Our king bed room was great. Loved the service and the fitness facilities. Great happy hour by the pool. Didn't eat at their restaurant but it looked appealing. We walked a couple blocks to sample a local restaurant, Green Springs Bistro, which was excellent. There are small shops within walking distance, too. And of course, Starbucks. We had a great stay. Also, drove to Tampa a couple times during our stay, not very far at all.
