Used to live in area and love this park. However on this visit, the parl looks overgrown and unkempt. Had to wonder if it is was due to less funds to maintain our parks. Hope it was an isolated situation.

you can leave the resort, take a pleasant walk observing the bayside nature profile with breeze and shade along the way all the way to the park. Learn about prehistoric FL history which is virtually unknown!

Beautiful large park perfect for picnics, fishing or boating, has swings for the kids, it is absolutely beautiful. My son got married there in that park and many people rent shelters ($25!) and have parties there. If you go on weekdays during the day, there is hardly anyone there and it is so peaceful. You can enjoy the water or walk through all the beautiful park without being disturbed. Weekends it is busier, but still enjoyable.

Visited this park for the first time in my grandfather's boat as a little girl. Brought back my children and then moved to Safety Harbor with this park as our own private playground. Now I watch my granddaughter dig in the sand at the beach area, climb the rock wall and explore the park with same happiness our family has enjoyed generation after generation.

This is a lovely park for walking, jogging, playground equipment for the children, boat launch, picnics, open field for ball games and flying kites, and even weddings and outdoor religious services. It's on the water with a view of peaceful upper Tampa Bay. It is heavily shaded by ages old oak trees, so sunburn has to be sought rather than avoided. In general a nice place to relax. And it has the added attraction of a genuine Indian burial mound and a memorial plaque to Count Odette Philippe, who planted the first Florida citrus and was a doctor in Napoleon's army.
