We never would have chosen this place for dinner based on its outside appearance but friends insited it was good even if they did not know the name. We were told to go to the red door in the old empty plaza. The restaurant is in an old K-Mart with a flea market at one end. There we found a RED door near the middle of the building, in a dark, empty plaza. Only a small "Pizza" sign near the door to give us a clue that we are in the right place. Once inside we did not feel much better about what we were going to eat. Very basic tables set up in a large open area. A one-man-band was playing old music at one end with a few people dancing and a buffet-looking kitchen at the other. We were quickly greeted by Big Mike, who made sure we had a table, drinks and whatever we asked for. He even sat down and chatted with us while we waited for our dinners. Food was especially good - some of the best NY italian we have had anywhere. Nothing fancy, just plain good food in a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend looking for the Red Door and enjoying what it has to offer behind it, you won't be dissappointed.
