“Who would have known this was inside!”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

We never would have chosen this place for dinner based on its outside appearance but friends insited it was good even if they did not know the name. We were told to go to the red door in the old empty plaza. The restaurant is in an old K-Mart with a flea market at one end. There we found a RED door near the middle of the building, in a dark, empty plaza. Only a small "Pizza" sign near the door to give us a clue that we are in the right place. Once inside we did not feel much better about what we were going to eat. Very basic tables set up in a large open area. A one-man-band was playing old music at one end with a few people dancing and a buffet-looking kitchen at the other. We were quickly greeted by Big Mike, who made sure we had a table, drinks and whatever we asked for. He even sat down and chatted with us while we waited for our dinners. Food was especially good - some of the best NY italian we have had anywhere. Nothing fancy, just plain good food in a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend looking for the Red Door and enjoying what it has to offer behind it, you won't be dissappointed.

“Great Homemade Authentic Italian Food!”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

I have eaten at this obscure, hidden Italian restaurant several times. Being from New York City - I have eaten fantastic Italian food and San Vito's wins 5 stars in my book! The food is home made from scratch and delicious! The portions are big and the prices are very good. It is definitely worth finding this hidden gem! You'll be glad you went - especially if you are hungry for some authentic Italian cuisine!

“you gotta go there”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

The food is off the hook Iam from N.Y. and use to eating in Little Italy and San Vitos food is right up there. There has been a BIG change there and Big guy that runs the front really makes sure thing are done right. You get seated quickly-your drinks are brought quickly- your food takes a little time because each order is cooked to order but well worth the wait.

“The place to go for pizza in this area!”
Reviewed December 15, 2012

From the outside this place is nothing to speak about, but, the pizza and pretty much all the food we've tried there, is really great!

“No Service”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

We had heard some good things about San Vito so we decided to try it on Friday evening 9/28. We got there about 6:30PM. We went in and no one greeted us; some nice soul at a table said that we should just find a seat and wait. We did that and waited about 10 minutes, finally someone came, gave us menus and apologized for the delay. The waitress came within 5 min and took our order and promptly returned with our drinks. I don't know what happened after that - the place was busy, but did not seem over crowded. 55 minutes later, believe it or not, we still had not received our food order or even a visit from the waitstaff. No explanation, no fresh drinks, no contact at all. We finally left and will not return. Perhaps the food is great but the service this night was horrendous.
