There are positives and negatives to the Comfort Inn of Ruskin (Sun City Center) Florida. One of the positives is that of the two hotels in this area, my local relative said this one was preferable. The lobby and breakfast area were wonderful - the breakfast selections were very good - yogurts, fruit, hot waffles, various breads and cereals and 24-hour coffee made this a very pleasurable breakfast experience. Their pool was VERY clean and did not smell overly-clorinated which was a nice surprise compared to most hotel pools.
Our room however had a few problems. (see photos). We had two king beds and there was an electrical outlet next to one of the beds on which the cover for the outlet was off and sitting on the floor next to the bed. Beds were comfortable and we slept well but the room was a bit cramped - probably too small a room to contain two king beds, table w/ two chairs, desk w/ desk chair, dresser, refrigerator and nightstand. Get rid of the writing desk and chair (which was way too large and had to be moved away to give ease of access to the room) and it would be okay. Other than the oversized chair at the writing desk it wasn't bad. The bathroom however was another story. The word overall I'd use for the bathroom was "dingy". It's a small bathroom and to close the door you had to stand to the side of the toilet. The no-slip grips on the tub bottom were stained and in dire need of clorox. The tub did not sparkle and seemed overdue for upgrading. A rubber tub mat was supplied, and that too was dingy and stained and needs to be replaced. Even the bath linens seemed a bit dingy. This bathroom needs some TLC bad, and the supervisor of cleaning staff needs to crack the whip and get staff to use clorox and get stains out of the tub. I wouldn't say it was dirty - just outdated and in need of upgrade. I don't think the stains were dirt, just stains - but still… when I go to a hotel I want the bathroom to sparkle, and this one did not.
