“Awesome Property”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

We spent two nights and were sad to leave. The rooms were amazing. They were spacious, modern, and clean. We never heard any noise outside of our room. The beds were incredible and the shower is something you would expect at a spa. Spectacular views of the beach and the inter-coastal. The grounds were immaculate and offered plenty of amenities for everyone. A small general store/coffee bar and restaurant/bar are located on property. Not much in the neighborhood. Publix grocery is just across the bridge. The beach adjoins the property. You can park in the covered garage and never leave. There were plenty of activities for everyone and the staff was incredible. The lobby projected a feel of luxury. I can not say enough about Oceana Palms.

This property is beautiful. We stayed in (2) 2 bedroom suites and we couldn't have been more pleased. The rooms were almost brand new and it was one of the most upscale Marriotts we have stayed at. They had a big pool, multiple hot tubs, a nice kiddy pool, a pool table, games, activities, and the Marriott Team were friendly and helpful. We are pretty picky about where we stay so we stay at very upscale resorts but I would say the Marriott Oceana Palms was just as nice. The only drawback I could see is that there isn't as much to do immediately around the hotel for kids other than water activities. This is not a myrtle beach type environment. We had 2 small children and the rest was adults so it worked perfectly. Probably a little more slanted towards adults only or adults with smaller children. I want to go back!

Room Tip: There is a newer section that was more recently built and we stayed in that.

From the moment you check in till the time you sadly check out, this hotel gives the client attention like very few..the staff is attentive, courteous and always at your beck and call. The hotel is immaculately clean. The villas are spacious two bedrooms, two baths, a full kitchen, dining room and a living room with a sofa bed..plasma tv in every room if you want to skip the sound of the waves while watching the sunset, or while watching the reflection of the moon on the sea. The reflections grill and bar has great food at reasonable prices. Lots of activities to keep you having fun even on rainy days..speaking of rainy days, the happy hour is all day with the rain.
I would recommend this hotel without any hesitation. We stayed in the newer building in an oceanfront, corner unit.

Room Tip: Corner unit in new building

We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing week at the Oceana Palms. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Our villa had an excellent view from a very large balcony that afforded both ocean and bay side scenery.

Room Tip: The TIKI seafood grill served up excellent dinner with terrific scenery!

This new, world class, deluxe resort just fulfills your every need as a guest. The property is immaculate, the pool excellent, the beach superb, and the resort has every amenity you can imagine.
The two bedroom condo's are extremely large and contain every major, minor, and minute feature we have ever experienced.
The staff is the elite of the already top notch Marriott team.
There are just too many special features to list. Our one week visit contained a new "wow, that's really nice" event at least once daily.
Obviously, we already look forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: For a outstanding view of the ocean AND the intercoastal / harbor , request a high floor room facing...

We have stayed at many Marriotts both hotels and vacation club properties and this is one of the best if not THE BEST we have visited. The lady who greeted us at reception was exceptionally welcoming and vibrant and this got us off to a great start. We were quite stunned when we saw our apartment - so spacious and with the most amazing oceanfront view Our balcony which ran the full width of the property was enormous - like another room -- and perfect for evening dinner and cocktails. Everything was pristine and extremely well equipped. Loved the marbletops and the steel kitchen appliances. We used the pool and the beach and enjoyed both. There was excellent musical entertainment at the pool which we enjoyed. there were always enough chairs and umbrellas at the pool and I loved the cabana areas. In fact I cannot fault the place. Enjoyed the happy hour at the bar too. The area is good -plenty of eateries nearby. the beach in front of the hotel is good with no rocks. We have also stayed at the Marriott Ocean Pointe on several occasions but we certainly prefer the Oceana and will always try and stay here again in the future.

We are platinum status and always stay Marriott and usually have very pleasant experiences. Out of all the Marriott we have stayed at, this has been by far the best hotel experience we have EVER had. The staff greeted us with a welcome letter and a bottle of wine. They not only acknowledged our children but went over and above to make their stay pleasant as well as the adults. The food staff was incredible and one of the food workers in the back even noticed we had an infant daughter and brought her out crackers (knowing that she likely wouldn't be able to eat anything on the kid's menu). The staff remembered our name and greeted us each time we were in the lobby. The facilities are incredible for families or for a romantic getaway. There is a rock climbing wall, a playground, and TWO pools- one lap pool to suit an adult's needs, and one very large family/kid pool with misters, fountains and all kinds of fun stuff. The beach area was nice and they provide free chairs but the umbrellas cost a nominal amount. THE ROOMS were amazing- we were on the 19th floor. We had booked with points and did not expect to walk in to 2 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, a total of 3 queen beds. Both rooms had beautiful views and the balcony was huge and even had a dining set on it so you can have breakfast overlooking the ocean. The living room and kitchen are full sized and the villa included a washer/dryer stack combo. The staff immediately brought us up a crib that wasn't broken (we've had a lot of trouble with getting broken ones) as well as a HIGH CHAIR (first time ever)!! We only stayed one night to attend the Maroon 5 concert and totally regret not having more time there. There were so many activities for children, adults and families. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING and this hotel has hired well.
The only problem you will run into: the area across the bridge is a complete slum. We ended up calling from that area to see if the hotel has a restaurant because we were a bit afraid to eat in the Popeye's or even get out of our car. We had passed a curbside fight already and the area was full of litter everywhere you look. There is almost no dining on the island area outside of the resort except in other hotels. The resort makes up for this by having an excellent restaurant and marketplace area on site. However, if you are in for a several day stay, there is a decent looking Publix right before you cross the bridge. It's probably best to get groceries before going. There is plenty of pantry space and a full sized range and fridge so you'd be okay preparing meals. Just don't expect a lot of dining/restaurant variety in the area.
In spite of the problem with the surrounding area, the Oceana Palms is like a little paradise carved out. The mixed drinks are amazing and the bar staff is quick. We live on the gulf but will likely be making the 2 and a half hour drive across the state to stay at this resort again! It's not just the beach that is a draw but you have to see it for yourself to fully understand.

We have traveled extensively and this is the best Marriott staff we have yet encountered. A job well done.

Room Tip: The 19th floor of building one is amazing and offers beautiful views.
