We recently returned home from spending 5 nights at San Remo Condos. When we arrived, the main office was closed for Memorial Day. We had to phone the operator, who gave us a code to open the safe and get our keys; the safe wasn't even locked!! We were expecting two twin beds as we had a 9 year old boy and 13 year old girl with us, however they said they could not determine what would be available until we arrived; thus my children weren't too happy. Adjacent to the hotel is a Seabird Sanctuary; nice place to visit but the noise awoke us early in the am. The gulf view as advertised was disappointing; we had a minimal view from the deck of the condo. We were on the 5th floor; a very slow elevator ride to say the least. The carpets were old, and the patio door(s) did not work properly. On the bright side, we did have a washer/dryer in our condo, and the owner was offering free long distance calling.

It was a very average hotel; I wouldn't rush back.

We have stayed at the San remo several times and we usually try to find a place that is quiet and clean. San Remo is all this and more. It has a beautiful pool and hot tub and the entire pool area is beautiful. Nice chairs shaded area and bbQ pit. We enjoyed the room also which we rented from one of the owners on VRBO.com. She was very upfront with us that the room had a limited view of the gulf. But the building is considered to be gulf front. there are not other buildings between it and the beach but the pool is inbetween the two. the room was spotless. the funishings were absolutly gorgeous, the desk staff was helpful and polite at all times. We lost our keys and they replaced them and had no problem with it. we will go back every year.

I just read the review of the person that had nothing good to say about the San Remo. Next time the person should dig deeper into their pockets and go FIRST CLASS! There are condos all along the beach that rent for $1500+ a week. The saying "you get what you pay for" holds true. It's easy to complain but if you're cost conscious the San Remo fits the bill. Though I do agree about the office staff. The Endless Summer Team leaves much to be desired!

We stayed at the San Remo in Reddington for Christmas 2004, What a regret! It was so bad that we demanded our week back from our timeshare, AND WE GOT IT!
What a ruined vacation we had staying at this dump. The condo is located next to the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary, Which is nice to visit, but what a problem this creates. You can expect to get crapped on if you plan to use the pool. Most pools by the beach have fishing line that is hung up to keep the birds out, The San Remo has this fishing line but it is all torn down and the birds just have a free for all in the pool crapping all over the place. I was reading a book by the pool, one that I got for Christmas and a bird crapped on it while we were out by the beach taking a walk.
For our entire stay the pool heater was broken, Not one person the entire week that I seen went swimming in it. It was too cold. When I complained to the manager she told me that the owners were trying to decide if they wanted to spend the money to have it fixed, What a shame for the people that were paying over $1000.00 a week or more to stay there!
As for the condo itself... We couldnt get the sliding door open, it was so old and almost impossible to slide open. The carpets were so dirty that our feet got very dirty from just walking around in the condo bare foot. The lock and door knob on the front door was broken and when we complained about it the response was, oh there isnt any crime around here, don't worry about it. The phone jack was torn from the wall with wires hanging out. Our bed was broken in the master with 2 out of the 6 wheels missing making our bed not level, I had to remove the rest of the wheels myself just to get a decent nights rest. The heat in the condo did not work, and with temps getting down around 40 at night, we were quite cold. Just so many problems!!
It was just unbelivable that people were actually paying to stay here.
I'm telling everyone that reads this message !! Beware!! BEFORE YOU WASTE A WEEK OF YOUR TIMESHARE OR $1000.00 OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY THINK TWICE AND HEED MY WARNING! DO NOT STAY HERE AT THIS DUMP! Feel free to contact me for more info n55vm@aol.com

We were told our unit would have a Gulf View . . . this, according to San Remo, means if you lean out your balcony, you'll see the Gulf. Our view was actually of Gulf Blvd. NICE . . . or not! The unit was okay, but didn't look like what you see in the photos on the Internet. Linens were few . . . be prepared to do laundry (even if you stay only a couple days). Be prepared to wash dishes and pans . . . as they are not clean upon arrival. Front desk folks work from 9-5 (try 9:30 to 4:30). Front desk folks aren't very helpful about the area (so, do your research). Grills require that you purchase your own charcoal and lighter fluid . . . grills are nasty! Don't go barefoot in the units . . . floors are nasty (be prepared to wear flipflops . . . at least). I am less than impressed about this property.

Final thing . . . don't be surprised to see a huge cockroach (or two) on its back struggling to flip (in your unit) . . . GROSS!

We saw other properties being torn down along Gulf Blvd., this one should be on the list to tear down. Will I be back to this property??? NO!
