We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is located in a rather quiet spot at a small lake with a lot of beach and water sports facilities and golf courses in the area. I guess we were lucky that the weather wasn't too good during our stay, which explained for the area being so quiet; must be something else on a nice summer's day! Now, the only busy place was the wellness facility, but we didn't use it. From the outside, it looked very nice, but in the morning there were long lines of people waiting to get in. Front desk staff at the hotel was efficient and friendly. The hotel looks quite new and is tastefully decorated. Our room was spacious, modern, good bed, very nice bathroom with walk-in shower and two wash basins with nice toilettries and a separate toilet. We had a room with "forest view" which means overlooking the parking lot; had we realised this, we would have booked an upgrade to lakeside view. There is free wifi everywhere. Breakfast buffet was good; the only downside was the jam which was not to our taste, but that is something personal of course! Serving staff in the restaurant was very friendly except for one person preparing the eggs made to order. We had dinner in the restaurant once; food was good but service was very slow. Overall: a very nice hotel. To be recommended.

We booked this hotel for our spa visit. After reading the reviews we deliberately upgraded our room to one with lakeside view and were not disappointed; "forest view" rooms only watch over the big parking lot of the premises which isn't quaint at all. The building itself has two stories and looks completely refurnished in a decor fitting a spa hotel with modern art in natural materials. A direct tunnel from the spa to the spa facilities is a very considerate touch for the guests. The room wasn't too cramped with a box-spring bed, and it had a rain shower and a separate toilet. The only downside of the room was that the air conditioning couldn't be regulated (it was stuck at 20C) and the mosquitoes make opening the door to the balcony at night a move you'll regret in the morning.

Breakfast in restaurant Intens was nice in buffet form, providing all basic hotel breakfast means (english, european, fruit, breakfast cereals, coffee, tea, etc.) We had the pleasure of having dinner in the restaurant too; a culinary surprise which was worth every dime spent. The restaurant takes the spa booking deals into account by offering their course menu's for a reduced price if your arrangement includes a main course dish only. They also provide very nicely tuned wine arrangements with every dish. We allowed the chef to surprise us with a four course surprise meal, which was in fact listed on the menu and/or with products of matching quality. An amuse of a tomato panna cotta and smoked beets, a starter of a very tasteful couscous salad, a course of coquille clams with three preparations of cauliflower, a main of baked fish and noodles and a dessert of tiramisu and ice cream, all accompanied with excellent wines. The servers (if not seeming a little overwhelmed at taking the orders and explaining the menu to arriving guests) were kind, informative and considerate.

The spa itself unfortunately was of less than mediocre quality. Having visited all the large and popular thermae in the Netherlands and having been informed that Thermen Bussloo won last year's prize of best spa of the year, we were expecting at least the same quality of what we're used to. Unfortunately the offer of baths and sauna's was little (too few for what the grounds could offer) and due to remodeling also not always available to the public. Areas were closed off crudely with wooden boards or windows were covered in tarps, not exactly adding to a relaxing atmosphere. All this aside though, we were most bothered by the fact that the finishing touches of the premises were tasteless, if not all lacking. Almost every sauna had a black hose hanging from the wall, solely for the benefit of the cleaners. The less attractive stoves that some sauna's require weren't covered up or placed outside the rooms or little buildings, but hidden behind crude doors. Some technicalities were covered up, but for instance with a board that isn't from the same material that has been used in the rest of the sauna. In one of the baths, the windows were covered up with cheap plastic blinds and we're hanging crooked. The geyser sauna was a laugh a minute, where bright colored led-lights shone in a little pool that occasionally burped a splash of water between plastic stalagmites. The sound of the waterworks sounded more like the twiddling of an old computer game than anything that would remotely relax you. This sauna pretty much sums the facilities up for me; tasteless and badly executed. We entered around 3 and decided to leave at 5 to dress up for an early dinner. Only after we returned after 9 and a couple of wines later, we had a little appreciation for what Thermen Bussloo has to offer us. When we returned the next morning we decided to make an early retreat after joining the other visitors at the edge of the outdoor pool, thinking what to do after having seen anything at least once already. As people who are used to spending entire days in a sauna complex, we were disappointed. We won't return to the spa again, and therefore have no reason to visit the hotel anymore either.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a lake view room or in the worst case, have a terrace bordering the parkinglot.

Stayed here for two nights and had a great stay. Everything in the hotel looks (and is) brandnew. Our room had a lovely view at the lake and was spacious with a large bathroom, seperate toilet and minibar. The bed is huge, but way too soft for me because of a weird fluffy toplayer on the matrasses. Wifi did only work close to the roomdoor.
Slippers, bathrobes and a very decent breakfast were included in our roomprice, as well as three days of sauna entrance. A great deal.

On the first night we had a three-course diner at the hotelrestaurant. This was ok, but staff seemed a little too busy to help all guests quick and the cook seemed to have stopped tasting his food properly (a starter with knob celery that was way to sweet, polenta at the main course that was way to salty). Large portions (mabye a little too much for a chic restaurant like this) and nice wines. However, we had to sent back our wine at the maincourse thee times, the first two times because there were flies in our glasses (didn't open a new bottle after the first fly-discovery but just told us 'we checked, there are no more flies in the bottle!'...) and the third time because the glasses were dirty; staff made no proper excuses and we had to take care of the first three glasses to be taken of the bill ourselves instead of these glasses - and after all this trouble the fourth one as well- not being charged automatically.

Acces to the sauna from the hotel is through a underground passage, just perfect.
The saunacomplex itself is just great, so many different facilities, spacious, and lovely surroundings.
A few minor points: too little toilets, very slippery and sometimes dirty floors inside near the pool and showers at the entrance, people smoking all over the grassy area outside (bleeh!), staff in the restaurant sometimes very alert but sometimes not at all, wineglasses not always cleaned properly (lipstick etc.).
But, these are just some details for improvement, we had a great and very relaxing stay and would definetely go here again!

Facility: excellent. Large wellness and sauna facility. We staid during the week and it was not (too) busy. Easy access from hotel to sauna. Sauna towels, slippers and bad robe were not included in the room price (additional charge). Free parking and there was no charge for the Internet. Only hick-up was the long wait for our lunch at the restaurant (sauna area); after about 30 minutes the staff let us know that our order was lost. After an additional 20 minutes we left. The restaurant in the hotel offers excellent value for money. Easy access from freeway; we staid in the facility and can therefore not comment on the area. No gym (what is strange for a wellness center). Rooms: excellent rooms, perfect bed and spacious bad room. Perfectly clean. Staff: professional and courteous (except the hick-up in the restaurant -- see earlier comment). Would stay here again.

I stayed there two nights on business. My room was spacious, free WIFI, beautifully decorated, rain shower head, balcony with a view of the lake. Parking was gated. The only difficulty was that breakfast started at 8am. Dinner was excellent - a mix of Asian and French. Great service.

The advantage of staying in this hotel is definitely that it is providing the perfect ,more private sauna visit. From the sauna to your hotelroom will take you about 5 minutes through the nicely decorated underground walkthrough. You can decide to go and rest in your room instead, and even decide to watch a good movie together, why not we can go to the sauna again tomorrow (at least on our deal it was ;-)).
We staid in the lake view room and we will never try the other side, the lake is much better. The hotel is only open since september, lovely experience of everything being "new". the auping bed perfect, it was ages since I slept better in a hotel bed then in my own bed. We loved having (a decent) breakfast (with good orange juice) near the fireplace in the restaurant.
I think 2 days of sauna entrance is the way you should experience it, it gives you even a more relaxed feeling...When you pay 150 for 1 night with breakfast, 2 people, 2 days sauna entrance this hotel is worth every cent.

We booked a day at Thermen Bussloo with lunch and 2 massages. The spa is beautiful, they have numerous saunas and very nice relax rooms, but the number of people in this spa was way too big! I overheard someone say that they normally have 300 guests, but on our day they had 700+. It was too crowded, you had to wait in line to get into a sauna or steambath. There was no free table at the restaurant. I would think that they allow a maximum number of guests, but I guess not. We are not going back. Too bad as the premises were really nice and beautiful, but I don't want to wait in line to get a sweaty seat in a sauna.....
