We were fortunate enough and very happy to have Captain Will marry us on their Sunset Cruise on Feb. 14, 2014. It was truly beautiful and well done by the Captain and his amazing wife, who was so much fun and instrumental in making our Special Evening a wonderful time to remember. But no worries, you don't have to get married to enjoy their awesome Sunset Cruise !!! It is a great cruise, well narrated and very affordable, We plan to see ya all on our one year Anniversary !!!!!!!

From the reviews I read about this cruise I was expecting something better than what we did. The first problem was finding the boat. It is within the Burnt Store Marina gated community and there is absolutely no signage to get to the right place. Fortunately our GPS got us close-by and we asked several people for the specific location. In fairness there were detailed instructions on the website, but not on our online ticket.
The boat was a small party boat with a crew of 2 and they offered some beer for sale at a reasonable price. The seats were comfortable. There was only an hour and a half for the cruise so we were surprised that they puttered around in the marina for 20 minutes looking for manatee. We fortunately did see a dolphin, but the people on the other side wouldn't have seen it. This quest for animals in a marina may be interesting for children and super-seniors, but we have canoed the area and seen much more wildlife than you will ever see there.
Finally we got out of the marina into open water and got more of what we expected, which is a look at the geography of the area. The various islands were described and of course there was a decent sunset. The captain was entertaining enough and did give out some interesting information, but it happened at such a slow pace that you could nod-off.
Finally we thought the sunset itself was supposed to be framed between 2 islands, but the position the boat was in just left shots of sun and water. Living on the eastern shore of Lake Huron has spoiled us, as the Florida sunsets don't measure-up with respect to color or intensity. We don't begrudge the tour company for that.
Overall I wouldn't recommend this anyone who is an outdoorsy person already, as you won't see anything new.

We are sorry that heritageher was bored on our Sunset Cruise. Here is our response to his comments.
It is easy to find us if you know where we are located. We try our best to encourage passengers to use the driving directions on our website; we are not sure why he didn't.
In the harbor we generally are able to show our passengers 4 to 10 manatees, pairs of nesting osprey ( some eating fish, often fairly close to the boat), great herons, snowy egrets, American egrets, tri-color herons, mullet (jumping) and a mangrove stand.
In the bay we see the geography of Charlotte Harbor, dolphin, rays, roosting pelicans (brown and white), ibis, bald eagles, and other migratory birds.
We acknowledge that none of this is new to those who have seen all this before, and yet we never tire of the experience. Our mission is fulfilled by placing our passengers in places where they can see and hear these elements of the natural world of Florida.
Sunsets vary in color and intensity. We have witnessed a very wide variety of Florida sunsets, including the Green Flash on 6 occasions!
Finally, we would like to let heritageher know that we offer more than just sunset cruises. We saw a big male dolphin leap repeatedly 7 to 8 feet into the air on our Boca Grande Beach cruise last Sunday. We also watched a large school of rays running in the Boca Bayou, and over 20 manatees in the Key Hole on our Useppa Island Cruise. We hope you reconsider and join us in the future.

Had the pleasure of going on the 90 minute sunset cruise with Captain Will and Tom. Though they must have done this hundreds of times, it all sounded fresh and new. We putted around both marina basins before heading out to see the sun set. The marina part was a little boring but informative. The manatees were hiding that evening, but we saw several of the native Florida bird species. All in all, a nice way to get out on the water. BTW.....The sunset was awesome!

Went on the Calusa Queen evening tour this past February- it was very nice to be out on the water seeing the sun go down. It was a great tour and the captain was very informative with stories of the area. I would recommend it as well as other tours that they provide.,

We booked the cruise for sunset cruise without any problems and the directions for getting there are very precise. Greeted by the captain and welcomed aboard. The weather was overcast with some breaks but the water was calm in the channel and slightly choppy in Charlotte Harbor but we experienced a comfortable ride.Captain Will and Bunny are a very engaging crew, knowledgeable, and made us feel at home. I would recommend this cruise to all of my friends and acquaintances. We will join them again.
