Fisherman's Village is a unique resort in a terrific Florida coastal town. The condos are spacious and comfortable with a view from your balcony of either a beautiful marina or sunsets over Charlotte Harbor, depending on the side of the resort that your room is located.
The entire resort is on a large pier. The first level consists of shops and restaurants. The condos are on the second floor. Don't miss Harpoon Harry's located at the end of the pier. What a great location! Awesome sunsets, good food and very reasonable prices.
Punta Gorda is a unique, pleasant Florida town. From Fisherman's Village you can access Harbor Walk. This 5-6 mile sidewalk stretches from Ponce de Leon Park to the south beyond the Charlotte Harbor bridges to the north, with the resort located about in the middle.
Boca Grande and the beach at Gasparilla State Park is about a half hour away.
We will definitely go back to Fisherman's Village next year!

So relaxing- sit on the balcony & watch all the boats in the marina come & go or on the other side watch the sunset. 5 restaraunts to choose from- 1 is perfect for the sunset right on the water. We had a 2BR-1Bath w/loft villa. Clean & comfortable. Lots of shops right there for browsing. Staff is very friendly & pleasant.

Room Tip: Marina side is most interesting w/sunrise, moon & boats to watch.

Since becoming snowbirds last yr..we are trying to gain a portfolio of t/s resorts in easy driving distance. Fihsermans Village proved to be one of our favorite when I exch. into it Dec 8-15 2012. It was a real super week there... a crafts fair was going on all wk down the center of the pedestrian shoppers 'mall' that makes up the ground floor of the Pier. There was musical (live) entertainment at central stage venue twice a day, and a Christmas Cantata on the Thurs. We were lucky enough to get unit #12 with main balcony overlooking the yachts and excursion boats all decked out in XMas lights and watched them fill up with busloads for the most popular sunset cruise. Went with husb. and motherinlaw. All units are 2 bd. We were happy cooking in, but did eat on premises 3 times @ nite. Recommend in foll'g order Oyster Bar, N England style Seafood Rest. Harpoon Harry's only for beer & burger.
Trolley tour is pretty good -during season -it stops and starts out front, goes all around town as well as to the Wildlife Rehab. Center on Peace River..just to point it out..we had just driven there day before and saw that is the closest sandy beach and quite tranquil for kayaking. The tour guide gives a good spiel on the History of the town, and I much enjoyed the Heritage Park site.. where they have assembled historic houses and hold a farmer mkt there on weekend.Hope to go again next holiday.

Room Tip: Avoid rms 37 to 40 best for central location are 10-14 (these are overlooking Marina part of bay -morning sun.

Fishermen's Village was a very relaxing vaction for us. The staff was nice and helpful. Some of the shops were quite unique. Several resturants to pick from and all of them were very good. The condos were clean as was the entire property. The bathroom is a little small but it wasn't a deal breaker. The harbor cruise boats located at the dock are alot of fun and your close to plenty of golf courses. This was the second time we have been there and I am sure we will go back.

The village is very cute/charming, love the boutiques, the harbor is beautiful. The villa, while spacious and clean, had terrible mattresses/pillows. My husband and I tossed and turned all night trying to find the best spot/position, but there was none. The pillows were flat/hard which gave me headaches each day we were there. The towels were "crunchy"??? Some fabric softener would help. Anyway, overall the village and restaurants were nice, but if we ever go back, not staying overnight for sure.

I am sorry that you did not enjoy our sleeping accomodations. We are currently in the process of replacing our mattresses with memory foam mattresses that will hopefully be more comfortable for your future visits.
On the good side, I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the shops and restaurants that we have. We try to have something for everyone here.
