Seated promptly to a table with a fantastic harbor view. The bronzed red grouper melter in my mouth. the multi-grained bun was fresh and tasty. the sides were hot and delicious. in short, this place was outstanding!

Started out at the bar and me and the gf each had a pint. The bartender was spot-on, very attentive and entertaining. He let us try a sample of the banana beer and it was sweet, tangy and robust. We then went to the dining area which was crowded. It does offer a nice view of the harbor if you are lucky enough to get a window seat which we were not. A perusal of the menu showed very reasonable prices, especially considering the location and that it is high season for tourists. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed. She handled it but b/c of the volume she was essentially just a frenzied order-taker. We started out with oysters on the half shell. Very nice presentation but they were lacking in taste. Just very clean and mild without that sharp briny taste that I like in raw oysters. Oysters lite i would call them. My gf had the grouper platter broiled and we both agreed that it was not very flavorful at all. The blackened grouper sandwich was another matter however. I have had many of these all over Florida and this one was the best I've ever had the good fortune to consume. The spice was just right and it had been cooked to perfection. A very generous portion as well! I will definitely be back for it, I'll just eat in the bar next time.

our first restuarant on our 3 week trip to Tampa reminded us of home. a fish & chip feast. went for the smaller helping as we'd preconceptions about US servings and we weren't disappointed. fresh haddock & salmon were both very tastey. great atmosphere in the place too. very friendly staff, an entertaining barman "holding court" with the locals. Boddingtons on tap too ! I was told it was run by an english couple.

Had dinner there 2 weeks ago and ordered the Fish and Chips Regular order. If your not a big eater you can order the smaller version. The onions rings were done perfect. Love it.

wow, what a difference a week makes from a very bad experience at Pates to a wonderful dinning experience at the Village Fish Market Restaurant, we were 7 couples all couples had their own dinner checks, our waitress Tracy said no problem, she had a positive attitude smiling all the time she never made a mistake, Tracy just made everyone happy and yes the policy for 6 people or more was gratuity is suggested, of a choice of 15%, 18% or 20% what ever you thought your waiter earned, I decided on 25% because Tracy earned it she was great and we all agreed that we would revisit, Tracy thank you for your wonderful service!!!!!
