“Nothing special about this place”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2013

Went there with friends for the BOGO offer in July of 2013. Opus was very clean and had the appearance of an upscale restaurant.
The menu was very limited but we expected it would be. Three of us had Mahi Mahi and the fish was very dry. The vegetables were almost raw and had no taste.
One of our friends is allergic to pepper and the waiter confirmed her meal could be prepared without pepper. When the food was served our friends meal was full of pepper. The waiter apologized and took the meal back. 18 minutes later the meal came back with no pepper but the fish was like cardboard.
I may try Opus again and update my review.

“Great Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2013

We've been talking about trying Opus and finally did when we had guests in town visiting. Everything about the evening was enjoyable. First of all, there is nice background music, but it is not too loud to prevent good conversation. We began with 3 appetizers: calamari, brussels sprouts and the fried goat cheese (all good but the goat cheese was the best). Each of us ordered a different entree: Chilean sea bass, filet Mignon, 1/2 rack of lamb, and scallops - all excellent. For dessert we shared: carrot cake, the chocolate with raspberry sauce and the apple empanadas with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream (the empanadas were probably the best dessert any of us have ever had...divine!!). They had specials but none of us selected those offerings. I would highly recommend Opus and we will certainly be back soon.

“Very nice evening”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2013

First time to try Opus. Went there with friends based upon their past experience. Very glad I did. The bisque was excellent and our entrees, veal chop, Tuna and Filet were very good to excellent. You can reseve on Open Table which is convenient. The selection of wines but the glass is limited for example one Pinot Nior which a bit surprising. We had a knowledgable and pleasant waiter which always helps make an evening. There was also a live sax player there when we dined. My friends have always had a good meal at Opus

“Great as always”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2013 via mobile

I live in Punta Gorda so I've been here probably 15 times but have never reviewed. The food has always beennwonderful every time. Tonight I had a veal chop, crab bisque and a wonderful special martini. This is a place that always delivers so don't miss it.

“Mothers Day”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2013

Have been there before 2/3 times before. Food was good with adequate portions and a fixed price entrée menu. Waiter was fair - disappointed in the evening. They were not crowded at 7pm and for $48.00 per it was not what I would expect from an 'upscale restaurant' in our town. Soup or salad and desert were included. Coffee not offered or served and nothing was said about the gratuity automatically added to the check. I understand holidays can be hard but they cater normally to a local crowd and depend on repeat business.
