Opus is a surprise in Punta Gorda. If it was St. Pete, Naples, or Boca Raton, I'd expect it. White table cloths, solid wine by the glass, and ample by the bottle. Well served and sauced entrees. Enticing deserts. Portions were generous for a higher end restaurant, although it was not food by the pound. Main courses included some vegetables so you didn't need to order lots of side dishes. The table had salads with the Heirloom Tomato and Halumi Cheese Salad as stand-out, pasta with grilled vegetables, yellowtail snapper, and open plated bouillabaisse, All were wonderfully flavored. We shared a desert and had coffee which were all perfect. Service was patient and attentive. It made for splendid evening out.
