“Good food”

I love the nachos--they are so good. My husband usually has the fish and he loves it too. We eat there quite often--food is always good.

Thank you so much Smiley for taking the time to review us on trip advisor! I know you how much you love the nachos and I am so happy that 'grumpy" comes for the fish. We appreciate your business and we look forward to your Wednesday visit! I am sorry I missed you on Wednesday.

“Good food, generous portions but a bit loud for us!”
Reviewed July 8, 2014

We ate at Deans as a family for early dinner. We sat outside and were pleased to be told that a band was auditioning on the stage, this did provide some entertainment but was very loud meaning it was very hard to speak with each other or the waitress. The food was good, we had steak, shrimps and fajitas with trimmings and there was more food than we could eat. Our sixteen year old big eater could only manage about half of the fajita plates that he was brought! I would recommend Deans for good Mexican food but ask for a quiet table if there is live music on and you want to talk to each other.

Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to review us on trip advisor. I am glad you enjoyed your meals and I personally know how nice it is when a teenager is full at the end of their meals :) We do have indoor dining in the event you want to come in, it is quieter. On a normal basis our music does not start until 8:30 pm. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

“Good dinner at Dean's.”
Reviewed July 7, 2014

We stopped at Dean's South Of The Border restaurant about 8 pm and I was concerned it was going to be more of a bar atmosphere than a restaurant because of the photos and reviews, but thankfully the bar area was outdoors and the restaurant was indoors so we were able to sit and enjoy our meal without the bar crowd. The menu is varied with a good mix of Mexican and American foods. We ordered the mexi burger, Reuben sandwich, chili relanos, cabellero steak (yes it is spelled that way on the receipt, I think they may mean caballero?), chimichanga with chicken, and a tamale. He thought the mexi burger was amazing and he says everyone should try it. The chili relanos, Reuben sandwich, and chimichanga were good. The steak had to be sent back once because it was still raw, but after that it was very good. The tamale was ok, but the sauce for it was terrible. It seems so hard to find really good tamales and that is one of my favorite Mexican foods. The restaurant was clean, the bathrooms were clean, and the waitress was very friendly and talkative. The bar area outside had regular tables and patio type tables with umbrellas and there was a live performer on the small stage area.

Two bad points for this restaurant: Parking is awful and there is hardly anywhere to park. Also, they do not give you complimentary chips and salsa like almost any other Mexican restaurant, and instead charged us $3.25 for chips and salsa which is ridiculous.

Total for this meal was almost $80 before tip.

“Not bad, but there is better”
Reviewed July 4, 2014 via mobile

If you are looking for place with loud music and a bar, this is your place. They tend to you pretty well, and the drinks usually do not run dry unless they are non alcoholic. The food is better than fast food but there are much better Mexican restaurants around.

Thank you for taking the time to review us on trip Advisor. We do have live music outside every night of the week. We try diligently to keep our music at a comfortable level, in the event it seems too loud please feel free to bring it to the managers attention and we will have it turned down. We also have an indoor dining room in the event that would be more pleasant for you. We try to bring the best dish possible to each and everyone of our patrons, I am sorry you were not happier. We look forward to seeing you again!
