My walking club parked at the Laishley Marina and walked across the bridge over the Peace River. It was around 9am when we finished walking and we wanted some breakfast. Punta Gorda has a cute downtown so we kept walking down 41 also known as Tamiami Trail.
We came across Dean's South of the Border and took our seats outside at a high table. The food coming out to other tables looked delish, smelled great so the 6 of us ordered: veggie omelets, scrambled eggs w/cheese, breakfast burritos and grits.
The food was soooo good and the server (Melinda) was very pleasant even though she confessed she worked until 2am...guess that big ol' bar is hopping at night!
The only downside was the toast. Seriously. Melinda talked up the whole wheat bread used to make the toast so we all had it. Most soggy with butter toast ever, but the crust was crunchy and the bread would have been great dry.
Very reasonable pricing for the amount of food and the coffee was very good.
The walking club will go back again!
