This was a great day trip experience. Lots of wild cats. They consume thousands of pounds of meat weekly. Run mostly be volunteers.

Tending to injured wildlife, and preserving the environment, doesn't do justice to the excellent work being carried out at this facility. Children especially, will be fascinated by the methods employed to save wounded critters.

We went to this sanctuary prepared to see old, sickly animals that had been abandoned and abused. Instead, we met some wonderful volunteers and saw beautiful animals that had been nursed back to health and were thriving under their care. It's not a glitzy park - it's obvious volunteers have put plants and small picnic areas around to appear more parklike. The enclosures are also not fancy, but large and well built with pools for the animals' comfort and appropriate toys for stimulation. They do not charge, but ask for a donation - we were so impressed we went back and donated more at the end! This would be a great visit for children to teach them compassion and love for animals. I hope more people discover this hidden gem.

You can view any number of Florida birds both permanent (disabled) and temporary (recovering) guests up close and personal. This is a great place to visit for families and kids or anyone who wants to see birds up close and personal and is willing to give up "in the wild" for "in a wild like habitat". You can see the folks feeding the birds up close and personal and can view many different types as long as you don't mind them being in cages. It is worth the visit and you will enjoy the trip.

This sanctuary is unbelievable! It is a non-profit that operates with volunteers who love animals. The sanctuary provides a home for abused, abandoned and confiscated exotic animals. It is a "must visit" in Southwest Florida!
