Description: FAILTE! [WELCOME!] The Celtic Ray Public House in downtown Punta Gorda opened in 1997 by Proprietor Kevin Doyle. At the time there wasn’t a single establishment in the area that offered a variety of quality imported beers and the atmosphere of a traditional Irish Pub. We serve only high-quality imported draught beers, bottled beers, ciders, fine wines, as well as, a selection of “soft” beverages. We also have expanded with the ‘other side’ and now have a full liquor bar! Our menu features traditional Irish Pub favorites made from fresh ingredients and family recipes.

The Celtic Ray’s Fish & Chips are famous worldwide! See you at the Ray, Slainte!

“Don't miss this comfortable bar with great food.”
Reviewed June 18, 2011

The Celtic Ray is an amazing Irish gem in the middle of Punta Gorda. When you enter the bar/restaurant you instantly realize this is a comfortable place to sit, relax and enjoy the locals; not to mention some amazing food.
My husband and I ordered the stuffed cabbage and the fish n chips. The stuffed cabbage had a sweet note with a warm flavor; the gravy was delicious with a slight pepper taste that matched well with the meat. The fish n chips were light, flaky almost melting in your mouth.
We highly recommend the Celtic Ray; the friendly staff and atmosphere with great food.

“Best Fish & Chips we have ever had”
Reviewed June 14, 2011

Considering that we visit London every year - it was surprising to find the best fish & chips are in Punta Gorda, Florida at Celtic Ray. Their cornish pasties also surpass the best in Cornwall. Welcoming atmosphere, great bands and beer!

We enjoyed our time in this wee pub. The beer, food and service were all good, and the atmosphere is comfortable and interesting.

“Very disappointed, microscopic portions of food, warm beer”
Reviewed September 29, 2010

Ok, some beer is served warm but not Stella, uhh, The Sheperd's Pie was downright awful, the portion was served in a very small French Onion Soup Bowl and the salt was unbearable, the staff was great but the food and beer need serious attention, the Ice House is right down the road in Punta Gorda and much better and cheerful and the British Open near Venice is a cut above both of these
