“Stop Here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2013

It was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, so be sure you call in advance. The exhibits were interesting and educational. We were greeted at the entrance by a gopher tortoise one day and by 3 sandhill cranes another day. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were hiking trails and kayak tours are available - check out the website.

“Beautiful, natural, quite and serene”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

This is a beautiful place with a fresh water marsh or savanna. You can take a guided kayak or canoe around the marsh on Friday and Saturday mornings for $10. Life jackets are provided. This marsh is beautiful all times of the year with different flowers and plants in bloom. A full moon guided kayak tour is also offered. There are a few hiking trails which vary in length, again with beautiful wildflowers. Take a close look, some of the wild flowers are small. The education center is very nice as well. They have snakes, turtles and various educational exhibits which teach about the importance of nature and would appeal to young and old. You may take a picnic lunch and fish. Also a great spot for nature photographers. Florida does a great job maintaining their natural areas and this is a special place for the entire family to enjoy.

“Old Florida Wetlands”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

If you are into hiking, camping or just for a picnic. The Savannas is a place not to miss. The freshwater marshes, or 'savannas,' once extended all along Florida's southeast coast. Stretching more than 10 miles from Ft. Pierce to Jensen Beach, this preserve is the largest and most intact remnant of Florida's east coast savannas.

Over eight miles of multi-use trails provide opportunities for hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding. The landscape changes dramatically with the rainfall as does the wildlife that lives here. The deeper marsh lakes provide habitat for large mouth bass, alligators, waterfowl and bald eagles.

Don't miss one of our natural beauty of the Treasure Coast and you can't beat the cost for enjoying nature.

“Not bad but not great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

There wasn't much of anything to see. The trails were so overgrown that they were practically impossible to traverse. I don't know hat I would return.

“Nice and out of town but close”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Nice park for a hike, camping, or just a picnic. We have been here many times. Its close to home for a quick last minute camping trip. Dont bother the gators and they wont bother you. You can hear them all night. Train tracks close by if your a light sleeper. Nice and maintained. Very clean.
