We've stayed here before, and had an unexpected problem arise prior to our last planned visit. The staff (particularly Pat) was very helpful in understanding our problem and working with us to resolve it, allowing us to cancel on short notice.

This was the most uncomfortable bed my husband and I have EVER slept on!!! In fact, we tossed and turned all night.
This motel is not that old, but inside could use some help. We noticed that the rug outside the elevators was dirty...needed a good cleaning. There were even some crumbs of some type that could have been vaccumed. This was not even on the ground floor, but even the second floor.
Even worse, when I opened the coffee pot filter to make coffee in the morning, I found housekeeping had failed to throw away the filter that had been used previously...which means they probably did not clean the coffee pot.
This was disgusting and we will never stay there again.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have a good selection of items for breakfast such as fruit,or bagle and English muffins or cereal. My one complaint about breakfast is that they could use a new toaster. It took a very long time to toast a bagle. I loved that there were drink machines for every floor and that the lobby had a large selection of late night snacks and soda. My only complaint with that is that there were only coke products, no Pepsi products. We are Pepsi people. The rooms were comfortable and we liked that there was a balcony. However the hotel is not on the beach, you had to drive, but I would defiantly stay here again with my family and bring the dogs next time. My friends and I had a great time.

We stayed here for a week and didn't have any issues. Very friendly and helpful staff. On Tuesday they had lasagna catered in and beer and wine to drink for guest appreciation night. Hard to believe, that was a first for us. The in-room kitchen was nice and came in handy. The TV was outdated and the bed was squeeky. We would not have any issues with staying here again.
For the price of the room and the location to Cape San Blas, enough said.

Came to town to do some trainings next door at the college. I found the hotel to be clean and comfortable. Didn't like the energy efficient lighting...dim. Had a small kitchen with refridg. stove and sink. Ok for one or two people. Small sitting couch with it's own tv. Small wall mounted tv for the queen size bed, which was good.

Without much in the way of selection in this town, this is a comfortable, satisfactory place to stay.

We stayed at MainStay suites for 3 nights while looking to buy a home in the area. The hotel is located in a quiet area, appears to be newer and is nicely decorated and clean and the staff was warm and welcoming. We got an upgrade on our room when we checked in, so it was nice to have some extra room to move around and relax. Our bed was comfortable although it squeaked a little, as did the bed in the suites above and below us. Accommodations in general were above average, other than the continental breakfast which seemed a little skimpy...no hot food, only cold cereal, bagels, muffins, a little fruit, etc. Would have expected a little more based on the overall quality of the hotel, however. The hotel is located in a beautiful, quiet area away from the usual crowded tourist traps like Destin, Ft. Walton, etc., but close to quaint Apalachicola, Port St. Joe and the surrounding beach areas, so it's a great vacation destination if you like a relaxed environment where you can fish, scallop, go boating or just picnic on the beach without the crowds. Definitely NOT the place to go if you're looking for clubs, crowds, bright lights and entertainment.

First let me start by saying this place has zero competition in the immediate area as far as hotel chains go. I think because of this fact, they don't have to try too hard. The room was clean and afforded ample space for two people. The bedding (mattress, pillows, bed linens) were probably original equipment. The bed was uncomfortable and squeaked and creaked with the slightest movement. The curtains were worn out and didn't stay closed without the help of a large paperclip. The housekeeping was suspect...when we opened our bed the second evening the sheet, blanket and pillows were basically the way we had left them in the morning, like we just got out of bed. The spread had just been pulled up over the bedding. The rooms have a small kitchen in them so I suppose they figure people will eat breakfast in their room but they do have a continental breakfast from 6-9am. It's enough to get you going but the layout is horrible. The tables are right up to the counters with barely enough room for one person to maneuver. Too much aggravation to start the day. Skip the breakfast thing and go find it elsewhere if you aren't going to eat in your room. Overpriced for what a nicer chain would charge, but again they have no competition in the city. Wouldn't stay again.

Room Tip: Whenever we travel, we always ask for a top floor away from the elevator.
