“Exceptional!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2011

This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast. Innkeepers George and Betty were like family. They made sure we were well informed about the property offerings as well as what the area had to offer. Breakfast each morning was fabulous! Eggs Benedict, quiche, waffles, and Lemon Ricotta Hotcakes!! All beautifully garnished with fresh fruit. There are complimentary bikes, beach chairs, canoes and a kayak. Free WI-Fi but you get kicked off when the inn's phone rings... A short walk across the street and you are at the beach. This is the squeaky sand kind of beach. Loved it! This section of the beach wasn't crowded at all when we were there. Our room was comfortable and our big, fluffy bath towels had that right out of the dryer fresh scent. The beds are Sleep Number which we didn't care for. We stayed in the Conch Room which faces the rear deck. We thought there might be a privacy issue with the windows right on the common outdoor area, but it wasn't. This may be the only room without actual outdoor space attached to the room. If an outdoor porch interests you check to see what ones offer it. ConeHeads, at the end of Cape San Blas Road (near the state park) has great burgers and ice cream. We highly recommend Cape San Blas Inn for a quiet, relaxing trip away! We will definitely return!

My husband stayed here the weekend of our anniversary and we are so glad we did! We are beach people and go 3-4 times a summer to the beach, but this was our first time in Cape San Blas. We loved it! We loved the inn so much and thought George and Betty were very hospitable and very sweet people! So glad we found this place and we will be back very soon!

Room Tip: The scallop shell room has screened in porch!

My husband and I went for a short stay, we really wished we could've stayed longer. George and Betty, the innkeepers are the most wonderful people I've ever stayed with. George is full of wonderful stories and facts about the area, and Betty is so sweet, she makes the worlds best pancakes. The Inn itself is immaculately clean, the rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. We stayed in the conch room and had a very nice view of the bay. They have canoes and kayaks you can use, "no charge, no kidding", and a hot tub out on the deck (that we enjoyed all to ourselves). Our stay was very short so George pointed out the small family owned store across the street "The Tradin Post', which he said had really good pizza. We weren't disappointed, it was great pizza and we also got a bottle of wine to enjoy with it, all reasonably priced. The owners Todd and Vickie where super friendly and we enjoyed chatting with them while our pizza was being made. All in all a great place to stay. We can't wait to go back for a longer stay.

Room Tip: All rooms are great here.

We were stressed and needed to get away! This was our first visit to the Inn. Betty and George greeted us, showed us our room and made us feel at ease. The Inn and the rooms were spotless, comfortable and cozy. The beach was a short easy walk. Driving to the nearby towns for lunch or dinner was quick and pleasant. George's recommendations for dining were on target. The Inn offers many quiet, comfortable places to read, think or just sit. The highlight of the day is breakfast. Breakfast is marvelous! We usullay run through breakfast but here we lingered as long as possible. Everything is hand made from scratch. We still think about it. Betty does most of the cooking and creating. This was our first visit but not our last. The success of this Inn is due to the diligence and thoughtfullness of Betty and George. They made our visit memorable.

Room Tip: Best room is the Turtle Suite.

We were only able to spend 1 night at Cape San Blas Inn. We discovered it by accident and showed up without a reservation but having looked at it on-line. We wanted to see it before making a reservation. As you know, travel websites can be very misleading. We know, we just stayed at a B&B in Apalachicola and walked away very disappointed.

George and Betty are wonderful hosts and made our stay especially enjoyable. They obviously enjoy what they are doing and it shows! The Inn was spotless and they go out of their way to make your stay a memorable moment. We will recommend to friends and make a point to come back when we can stay longer.

Room Tip: Check the website. The rooms are ALL great.

When my husband and I decided we were going to the beach this year, I immediately researched B&Bs/inns in Apalachicola and Port St. Joe/Cape San Blas. After reviewing Trip Advisor, I decided on the Cape San Blas Inn, and I was so glad we decided to stay on Cape San Blas. It's an excellent "base" location. Since we don't spend the entire day at the beach, we would take daily excursions to the following areas: St. Joe Peninsula Park, Apalachicola, Port Saint Joe, Mexico Beach, and Wewahitchka. When we did go to the beach (later in the day and for the sunsets), it was just across the street, and it maybe took us 5 minutes to get there.

The Cape San Blas Inn is extremely clean. George and Betty do a fantastic job of maintaining the property. And, the gourmet breakfasts are some of the best I have ever had. We had the following treats during our 4 days: french toast, pancakes, eggs benedict, and waffles. All of the meals had fresh fruit, and the pineapples was some of the sweetest I have had in a long time. As a result of the huge breakfasts, we usually had a much later and lighter lunch.

As far as the rooms, we stayed in The Oyster, and it was spacious with a small patio. Overall, it was quite comfortable, and I liked the tile throughout the Inn instead of carpet.

We also enjoyed sitting on the deck that overlooks the bay, and 3 of our 4 breakfasts were served outside. And, the hot tub at the end of the dock was very nice.

Finally, George and Betty were great hosts. They provided valuable information on restaurants and other placesduring our visit. We WILL return to the Cape San Blas Inn.

I/we had originally planned to stay about a week and ended up staying nineteen days! George and Betty the innkeepers are two of the most kind and generous people you'll ever meet anywhere. They both do a fantastic job of looking after everything and will bend over backwards to make sure your every need is taken care of. The breakfasts that they prepare are delicious and not to be missed. George will also entertain you with some great stories and helpful advice about things to do and see in the area. The inn is right across the street from one of the best beaches in the world, there's also a small store across the street that as everything you need from great pizza to suntan lotion etc.
I don't think I've ever felt so comfortable somewhere in the past 40 years I've been traveling, all in all a great place to relax with some the best people you'll ever meet and the best breakfast you've had anywhere! Do yourself and the ones you love a favor book a stay right now, you won't regret it. I/we can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Call, ask for George, he'll take of of you.
