The hotel was very clean and the service was great. My porch was 30ft from HWY 98. It was a little noisy with the traffic.
The breakfast was good and the price was great (free). The price was a little expensive for what it was on the HWY.

We have looked for reasons to stay here, but this visit lacked some of the shine. While still a delightful, quaint inn across US 98 from St Joseph bay, popularity might be taking its toll. Rooms are small but comfortable. We are not interested in the music scene at The Thirsty Goat, a popular watering hole among guests & locals located in the inn. However our quiet was not disturbed. Breakfast food from the complimentary buffet was as good, however the coffee was not hot - and I was disappointed that paper cups have replaced the ceramic mugs. However, the stay met our needs.

We went there for a weekend vacation. The rooms are small for the price, not very clean. The air conditioner is very noise and doesn't work, . The first morning I saw a "water bug" (nothing different than a big roach for me) on the wall. The carpet going upstairs is dirty, noticeable dirty. The building needs major renovations.
On the other hand the employees are friendly and helpful, very good service. Has free breakfast and is good breakfast.

Thank you for choosing Port Inn for your stay in Port St. Joe. I am terribly sorry to hear about your experience, and am shocked by the condition of your room. We strive to exceed our guests expectations, and are very disappointed in ourselves for letting your stay slip between the cracks.
Unfortunately, the time of year dictates the insects, and we apologize for one of the water bugs making its way into your room. As for the room size and hotel conditions, adhering to our strict standard of maintaining the integrity of the historic building has limited us to a select number of large suites, and those tend to book quickly. You’ll be happy to know, though, that we are in discussion to replace the carpet on the stairs, and thank you for bringing that to our attention. We rely on the input of our guests to make the necessary changes to live up to our TripAdvisor rating, so thank you for taking the time to review your stay.
I am glad to hear our staff provided you with exceptional customer service during your stay, and hope that you’ll return to us based on the relationships built with our staff.

Port Inn, in the quiet little town of Port St. Joe is a very relaxing place to stay. When we first walked in I immediately felt the character and charm of this beautiful old hotel, and the lobby smelled so good. We stayed in the presidential suite. It was very comfortable and clean and had a view of the bay from the living room. The mini fridge and microwave was nice to have. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet and dark which made for good sleeping. We ate breakfast there the two mornings we were there, which was included in the room fee. The bacon was crispy and tasty, and the grits and biscuits were delicious as well. They also had oatmeal, cereal, eggs, sausage, gravy, bagels, toast, waffles, coffee and juice. All of the staff we encountered was very friendly and the two nights we stayed they had someone playing guitar and singing on the front porch which was fun. I would love to go back again!!!

By chance we decided to stay here overnight on a recent road trip whist travelling between San Antonio and "Howie in the Hills" Florida at the end of February. We stayed in room 103 which was clean, comfortable and quite spacious with a king size bed. As this was a simple overnight stay, we decided to eat in the bar, the “Thirsty Goat” and had some reasonable good quality bar food. The staff were all very pleasant and courteous and the bar charges were extremely reasonable. The room charge included free buffet breakfast, although due to time constraints we were unable to take advantage of this, due to the dining room being full, I think with locals and other none hotel residence, so I assume it must be good.
In all a very nice stop over, which should we pass through again we would certainly have no issue with staying again, hopefully with time for breakfast

During the last week of February 2014, our two-month condo rental on Cape San Blas was ending , but we wanted to stay another week. We thought the Port Inn (about 8 miles away) would be a good choice; it always looked welcoming when we were in town. I called early afternoon to make a reservation. The lady who answered said she was busy, but didn't offer to put our call on hold. Instead she said, "can I have your number and I promise I'll call you right back." That's kind of strange to begin with, but after waiting several hours with no callback, we booked a suite at the Mainstay Hotel in Port Saint Joe. Mainstay was great, so perhaps it was fortuitous.

I want to apologize for our guest service agent not calling you back. Customer service is very important to us and obviously we did not fulfill our promise. We hope that you will visit us and hope that you will try the Port Inn another time. I am glad that you enjoyed staying at our sister property, The Mainstay Suites.

Thank you,
Lynn Marshall
