On the strength of reviews here we chose Provisions for our "last night of vacation" dinner and were not disappointed. The shrimp alfredo was as rich and wonderful as anyone could ask for. The special, Snapper Picata, was to die for. When in Port St. Joe, do not miss a meal at Provisions. And say HI to Dru, our great server.

If that's what you are looking for, this is a good choice. Not your run of the mill menu so there are some interesting choices. We stopped their twice and had great service both times. The owner stopped by the table and visited for awhile which is a nice touch.

My husband and I went there for Valentine's day and were very disappointed given the other good reviews we'd read. After being seated, we were given a menu but we didn't have a waitress for a very long time. No water given and no drink order taken. My husband had to go to the bar himself to get two glasses of wine. Since we had made reservations days in advance, we were also surprised that the menu was a special one for that night and not the regular one we thought we'd be ordering from. Someone could've mentioned that when we reserved. No one seemed to have a given job. There wasn't an official hostess. It seemed that whoever happened to be near the door would stop and help incoming customers. The bartender even came out from behind the bar one time to greet people. Our waitress said something about it being so busy as to why our service wasn't up to par. She even went so far as to say that she was glad we'd started up a conversation with the table next to us so the time passed more quickly. Even though the food was good, not outstanding but good, we would never return to this establishment until they can get their act together with the employes having a specific job to do and doing it! No excuses.

Had lunch here today with husband. There are about a dozen tables with a dark decor. Bar in the front room had some seating as well. Friendly service. Lunch menu on the small side but had an interesting variety to choose from. Hot and cold sandwiches, salads, burgers, and oddly enough prime rib. Price includes drink. We each got the Cuban sandwich with fries. Was a bit salty but very good. Fries crispy and brown and very good. The coke tasted weird. I have to wonder if its the water around here because the last soft drink I tasted from this area was equally bad. I would come back.

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area who wants a dinner out for a special occasion. We were in the area for an off-season visit, and despite the very few people there, the restaurant worked hard to maintain what is obviously their high standards. The ambiance is great. The menu is the most imaginative we have encountered during our stay. The wine list is good. I had the goat cheese and tomato fondue, which consisted of a chunky marinara served hot with crumbled chèvre accompanied with freshly toasted slices of bread (a little unwieldy due to their size) - delish! My wife started with a salad of chèvre and pecans, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She had the bouillabaisse, a very generous portion, which she finished! The broth was perfectly seasoned with saffron and turmeric. I had the tuna with lemon caper sauce served with angel hair pasta. It was nearly perfect (they failed to warm the plate which resulted in a tepid presentation when it reached the table). Aside from this faux pax, the dinner would have been a near 10!
