The Hampton Inn was a pleasant surprise with only one flaw......and maybe a weakness or two.
Check in was fast, pleasant and courteous, the room keys had already been programmed and it was just a matter of indentifying the vehicle, one set of initials, a signature and that was done. Check out was just as efficient.
The room was large, the main area was about 16 x 17 with a king bed, two night tables, a chest of drawers with "small" flat panel TV on top, a work area, two chairs and a paddedd bench at the foot of the bed (i thought this was a nice touch). Items were well space, there was room to walk around without tripping over something. The night tables had both drawers and open space for storage and the three drawer chest was more than adequate for a short stay. Unlike many hotel with absurdly large TVs, this one was adequate without dominating the room.
The work area was adequate with wired internet connection (free) and enough power outlets. One big plus was on one night table was a box with three 110 V outlets and two USBs for charging items like cellphone. Temperature controls were easy to use, heating/cooling effective (temperate weekend).
The is a full sized bathroom with sink with granite surface and room for storage underneath. There was a full sized (3 x 6) shower, but the temperature control was not intuitive. The bathroom fan was quiet and almost adequate to keep the mirror from fogging. Towels were neatly stowed in a convenient alcove, more than enough of them..........but the bath towel was barely large enoough to wrap around my waist and with plushness consistent with the low cost of the room. There was a hook on the back of the bathroom door, something that I treasure.
The closet was adequate, behind a full length mirror, with enoough hangers, iron and ironing board. There was no safe.......
There were four pillows, the bed linens were "fine". There were multiple postings that sheeets and duvet cover were washed for each new guest......which worries me.
The completmentary breakfast was typical with three hot items, three cold cereals, baked goods that varied somewhat day to day, the ability to make the standard hot, gummy waffles.
The hotel and the room was clean and orderly. For a budget priced hotel, about 2/3 the price of the Homewood Suites across he road, this was a good deal.
The flaw......everything was disposable. No glasses or ceramic cups, only coated carboard. Breakfast was plastic plates, plastic utensils and coated cardboard cups.
