“Fun & Free Family Afternoon”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

We discovered this attraction on a website of roadside oddities. I guess the cement dinosaurs are a bit of an oddity as is the history of this location, but the botanical gardens are quite lovely and we can't wait to come back and visit again in the spring when the place should be in full bloom.

“Beautiful Historic Attraction the whole family can enjoy! FREE!”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

While touring the area with family, we stumbled upon the Sugar Mill ruins in Port Orange. The preservation of the area along with its lush flowers and plants made this a day to remember for everyone in the family! There's a walking trail that coordinates with a free map at the site explaining each thing in detail. It offers large trees to play on and old dinosaurs to be found by the kids (you have to go to the park to find out why they are there!) The time and care taken to offer this to the public is extraordinary! This diamond in the rough has a story to tell full of history and richness of the area! A "donation" box is also available and worth anything one can contribute! A MUST SEE in old Dunlawton!

“Nice little trail through the old sugar mill”

Worth stopping if you are in the area. Go when the weather is cool, we got eaten alive by mosquitoes.

“Ruins of a Sugar Mill”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

Historic site in Port Orange. These ruins have been partially restored but still reflect the massive size of equipment needed to process sugar cane. The garden contain life-size dinosaur sculpture done in the 1940's.

“Something different to do, and its free (or donate $)!”
Reviewed August 11, 2012

We always take visiting relatives here. Kids enjoy it, because they can find dinosaur statues, and there are trails and lots of trees for running and hiding behind. Adults enjoy the plants and flowers and historical ruins. Very shady! There are many benches for sitting and enjoying the view.
