“Wonderful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2013

This was my 3rd year of having a wonderful time during my stay at nova. The employees are very nice, the campground was clean and well maintained. I loved it so much I bought one of the cabins in the campground. I can't wait to go back.
Kudos to the Nova Campground family.

Room Tip: Tent, RV or cabin, you can't go wrong.

Becareful if staying here. We were here Feb. 22-28. We left a day early because of ants!!! They got into our RV and it was a mess. The maintence is also going down hill, you could see that just pulling into the parking lot to check in. This was our 3rd year of staying here and it was awful. They always had a nice group of people that stayed for 5-6 months they were not there either so we kinda thought something. And yes found out on our own :( Quiet time used to also be at 10pm which we didnt mind. People were up at 2-3 AM yelling and screaming. Hope they change somethings or we will not go back.

Dawn H, Manager at Nova Family Campground, responded to this review, February 18, 2016
Hello Debbie,
We are so sorry that you had to leave because of ants. We have a company that come here many times ( even on call) during the year to spray and do any follow up treatments, for any kind of insect problem. Unfortunately, ants are inherent part of being in Florida and sometimes, no matter what is done, there is a problem. Also, if we were getting a lot of rain during your stay, you would have found more of them.
As far as the maintenance goes, we strive to stay on top of things and usually do. We have had no other complaints on the maintenance overall. In fact, most people complement us on the park.
The group of people who used to come here for 5-6 months did indeed leave Nova. They did so because they bought places to live.
Unfortunately, sometimes we get guests who do not abide to the rules. We always address it with them and if it is for noise reasons, we usually give them a warning. After that, we usually ask them to leave. We don't know if you alerted the office about the noise problem or not, but if no one does, then we would not have been aware of it.

Stayed at the campground with about 10 of my friends, rented one Cabin and had a tent. It was great. Used the fire bit and went to the beach which was a moderate distance away. Would definitely stay again, the family that owns and runs the campground are the sweetest. The aura of the campground is super romantic and laid back, great place to vacation.

Room Tip: for large groups, renting a cabin and places to hitch a tent is much fun and very accomodating.

I was here for the Rolex race.. needed a place close to the track that was affordable. Loved this campground.. This place is very friendly. the sites are very nice, the scenery is unreal, a great setting. The facilities are obviously old, but, very clean and functional. I would recommend this place to anyone I know. I will definitely be back!!!!!

We needed convenient and economical accommodations for our 21 person church youth mission trip to the Daytona Beach/Port Orange Area. We stayed there 6/10/12 through 6/16/12. Owners Michael and Dawn made us feel at home and were very accommodating allowing us full use of all facilities. We stayed in 3 cabins and 1 trailer. The A/C worked great in each and all were clean as were the bath/restroom and pool facilities. The shower facilities are good sized and clean with plenty of water pressure and hot water. The campground seems secluded under the large oaks, but is actually very convenient to the beach, shopping and I-95. Reservations and check in/out were hassle free for sure. The office staff was great. The group made good use of the game room for our evening meetings and free time. I myself had stayed at the campground over the years with my family in the late 60's. I would not figure the campground to be that old if I didn't know myself. It was a just as fun for me as it was back then watching the teens on our trip enjoy their time there. I will definitely recommend we stay at Nova Family Campground the next time we make this trip.

Room Tip: The web-site was helpful.

It's a laid back park that has a lot of character compared to its competitors. Having driven through three of the other parks this is definetly a more interesting place to stay. I'll be here a while and will endeavor to update you on the goings on here.

Traveling to Orlando on business, we made a "mini" vacation of the trip by leaving earlier than necessary and taking some of the grandhchildren along. Part of the trip was their time, camping and sightseeing, the beach, etc... We found the Nova Campground by sheer chance, grapping a camping in Florida book at the visitors center. Located very close to the beaches but set back in a quite neighborhood under huge oak trees, it's lovely! They have a pool too! I do not know if they have breakfast every weekend, but during our stay they had full breakfast offered for $3.50 a plate, huge pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, etc... quite a deal and no dishes or grill to clean! As is the case in most campgrounds we have visited, everyone was quite friendly and helpful! We had a hawk visit each morning (an exciting moment for the kids), chickmunks playing in the open areas in the evenings, and an owl overhead at night looking for his dinner! Not too much of a mosquito issue (though they did like the ankles unless we put on a little spray) and the evenings were quiet. A lot of RVers but tent campers as well. Clean park, clean showers and restrooms too. Close to everything you would need. We were arriving after the office closed but we were able to pick out a site and go to the office in the morning to register. We even stayed an extra night after finding out the Space Shuttle would be launching early that morning! Yes if you like camping without a fancy franchise name attached to the place!
