First I'd like to say that this hotel is a bit older but they are currently renovating for the better. The manager explained to me what was going to be done and it will be like a new hotel when it's completed. The third floor was down so they had limited rooms, but I still ended up with a first floor lake view room. I was very happy about that, a much better then the parking lot. I was visiting some family in the area with husband and we were there for a few days. Very nice hotel from downstairs. I didn't go upstairs, I had no reason to. The pool was very nice, for one day. They are resurfacing the pool area and it has been down for a few days. I think they had said it would be back up and running by monday the 17th.
The staff was wonderful. So helpful with directions and places to eat in the area. Applebees is right next door but being there for a week we needed some other food source. Bella Napoli is very good, as well as Donatos which are both Italian food restaurants. They recommended Fishersman Village for seafood, which was very good. There are a bunch of shops there, very nice to walk around in. Plus, it was right on the water. Absolutely beautiful.
Breakfast was good for the most part. If we got out there between 6-7:30 the breakfast was still hot. I got up late a few days and had breakfast around 9:30-10 and it was cold. not very happy about that. But they do have a wide range of foo to enjoy. The coffee was always hot and the waffles we delicious.
Overall, I will definitely stay here again and I'm looking forward to seeing the finish product of the renovations.

Room Tip: Any room facing the lake are nicer just for the view. They are renovating so when the third floor is...

This hotel is under construction but it didn't cause any discomfort at all. Great staff and clean rooms. I would stay here again. The Manager explained the renovations to me and it is going to be like a new hotel when it's done. I can't wait to come back to see it when it's done.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Port Charlotte, Fl and found it very clean. The staff were very friendly and accomidating. The breakfast was hot and had more than the usual pastries and coffee. There was omlets, waffles, freid potatoes, oatmeal, yogart and cereals.

Room Tip: Choose the lakeside for more privacy.

Stayed here 3 times in 2 months. Had lake view rooms each time, and had balcony once. Balconies are large, but no privacy wall between them. No matter because it was great to be outdoors overlooking the beautiful, quiet lake. All rooms had humidifiers. Don't know why. We turned them off because they were noisy. Refrigerator was a plus. Property is under new ownership and management, so hopefully, they will update the bathrooms, which were clean. Friendly staff that accommodated our requests for lake room. Never ate the breakfast because we had breakfast meetings to attend. Brighter light bulbs would be appreciated. Liked having Applebee's right next door.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view room.

Like some other reviewers I too am a Hilton Honors member. I did read the mixed reviews but booked two nights thinking it couldn't be as bad as some said. And it's not. While checking in I told the desk clerk that I had read some bad things. Within twenty minutes she called the room to see if everything was satisfactory and it was. The second floor balcony was impressive probably 12 by 12 with two chairs and a lounge chair plus a small side table. The breakfast, though not the best Hampton I've had, was certainly not "terrible" as one reviewer complained. The staff was always pleasant and even drew us a map in order to help us. The upcoming renovations should certainly improve this hotel. The big downside to this place is that it's not competitively priced. There are some other nearby places that are $30-50 cheaper including a very nice Country Inn and Suites (our friends stayed there). By the way there's a nearby slot casino. Don't go there. It's a ripoff. You put money on a card but in order to win gift cards (no cash), you have to win more than your initial cash outlay but you don't get the whole winnings because your initial outlay is deducted. Boy, was I dumb or what? Rhetorical question!

Stayed here one night while on a business trip. I received a warm welcome from the front desk staff, which is a good start to any stay. The room was clean and everything was in good working order. The breakfast was not the best Hampton fare I've had, but in the range of what to expect, depending on location and day. If you are a HiltonHHonors groupie and want to get your points, this will work. It is at a well-developed interchange on I-75, with many restaurants and stores nearby.
